Alright, I'm new here, just discovered the game through Steam, I think it's pretty amazing for an alpha build.
But anyway I didn't see this type of thread in this forum (with the specificity I'm detailing) so I decided to make a thread about the crash, and further a few bugs I've noticed.
The crash happens when starting the game--if you press "Escape" during either of the two screens (PhysX and LoFi Games), the game will freeze on the main menu. Pressing the Windows button or otherwise will bring you back to the desktop where there's a notification that the game has crashed. The game runs fine otherwise. I'm not including a .dmp file because there's nothing overly specific about that crash, but if one is desired I'll attach it.
Also, I've run into a few bugs that I'll note. I admit I don't know if these have been mentioned specifically, though I checked the "known issues" thread and they weren't there. In addition, some may not be bugs actually but intended.
1. Rum barrels can be placed over already occupied areas, and over each other--they overlap.
2. Ore storage boxes, conversely, are very far apart--there's room for a whole 'nother container within the space between two of them. In addition, the number of squares for the ores ON each container is wrong--there should be another row of squares. The ore does fit, but the image clips over the bottom of the squares.
3. This isn't a bug per se, but there are no steel storage containers. I don't know if that is intentional or not. Makes the steel refinery kind of *pause* when the output is full, hindering the otherwise startling ease of production.
4. This has been mentioned, but there are problems with the crafting. One problem is that it will arbitrarily say "Not assigned to a craft bench" or "no production queue." The other is that a worker will begin work at the bench, but if interrupted or when finished with one item, he becomes unable to work at the bench again. In that thread it also mentions that a temporary fix is to save and load, but it's still a bug so I'm mentioning it.

Hey there, just here so you know you're not going unanswered.
First off, what version of Kenshi are you running? Edit you title and put that in there so we're all on the same page. (Easiest way to find this is to alt+tab out and look at the taskbar}
Secondly, I am unable to reproduce your "Esc" during the splash screen crash. It doesn't even freeze at the Main Menu. It doesn't hurt to upload a crash dump for Chris to check out, should he have the time to do so.
As far as your bugs go, I cannot place rum barrels overlapping each other and ore storage boxes are able to be placed adjacent to each other.
Could you give a list of steps to reproduce these issues please?

Alright. As I just put, I'm running 44.1 on Steam.
I'm not at home and I have a very busy day ahead of me, but when I get home I'll take a look at the game, upload a crash dump, and screen shots of the issues.
Alright, here it is, the crash dump and a screenshot of the rum barrels.
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the ore storage issue. However, it wasn't that they couldn't be placed adjacent to one another, but that they were so far apart. It seemed abnormal. Am I the only one with that issue as well?

I've been able to reproduce your ore storage issue being somewhat farther apart than normal. This occurs if you try to place two of them within the same Build Mode, if that makes sense.
Try placing one, exiting Build Mode, then place the second one next to it.
This may also be the case with your Rum Barrels as well.

I'm using the non-Steam version and the game crashes if you press Esc in the main menu.

So it appears it's a problem with "Escape."
And thank you, Pnzr, I'll try that with the Ore. I suspect it's a different issue with the rum barrels though, because as you can see in that attached image I "built" several outside, not in a building (though it's an interior object). They're somewhat buggy.

I managed to reproduce your crash with the Esc key. I replied to the thread Morshu32 linked.PnzrNorm wrote:I am unable to reproduce your "Esc" during the splash screen crash. It doesn't even freeze at the Main Menu.
