No items appear for crafting

I'm trying to craft weapons/armour but in the crafting tab i am told i need to research things to craft. The research also isn't available for weapon types (sabres etc), however i used to be able to craft clubs and now that is gone too. Using research bench 5, armour/weapon bench 3, advanced smithing 2 and weapon smithing 4or5 unlocked. Any help would once again be appreciated

If you're using the Weapon Smithing Bench 3, I believe the lowest grade available to craft requires Weapon Smithing 7 or 8.
Try constructing the Weapon Smithing Bench 2 and see if weapons are available to craft.

Also, in order to be able to craft other weapons aside from the Club and Heavy Club, you will need to venture into an NPC town and buy blueprints from the Weapons Vendor.

I was just coming on to check up on that blueprint thing, lol. I made the mistake of reading the wiki page on research, which lead me to believe I could research stuff instead of buying blueprints. Then I saw the blueprint for farming (which I'd already researched) and decided the wiki was right.
