Hello,

I can't attach the crashDump.dmp file. I recently verified the integrity of the files via Steam, so I know that's not the problem.

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi
locate your data folder. if you have mods in them, back them up to safe place.
delete data folder then revalidate your game cache files.

I am also getting two config windows and then a crash. I have to choose the rendering subsystem in the first config windo then the ogre engine config window pops up and when I hit okay the game crashs. It worked fine when I just had the Demo, but after I bought the game on desura it started to crash when ever I try to run it. I was not able to find the file that is supposedly generated when it crashed. I get the same message that appocalypticdoom shows in the first post. I tried to start Kenshi from the core.exe like it says in the last post and had the same thing happen.

Have you backed up your save directory and deleted all Kenshi and Kenshi demo related files and done a fresh install? That should fix that issue, it's in the known problems and solutions announcement thread: http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=518
