0.74 Random crashes

I'm not getting the character creation crash like most other people but i am crashing at random. once loading a new area but otherwise just as im runnig about or fighting.
I'm also having an issue loading as i run towards brink from the top fight most town ( cant remeber name).
The game pauses and the loading dialouge box shows as it should, but then when it unpauses the loading screen wont go away, and the game stays around 4 fps.I tried quickloading and quicksaving but that somehow deleted my character and the game loaded with an empty squad. I got lucky saving quitting the game and loading fresh but it crashed in brink when i was checking out the vendors.
