Crash on character creation

Recently got the game on steam, but I can't get past the character creation screen. As soon as I enter it after selecting a start. The game begins to lag, my system mouse shows up and loses the in game mouse. Then it crashes.

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like you have a corrupt file somewhere. Try a re-install and be careful of using old mods.

I have same problem, when i hit begin button game crash, but sometime game crash even after change gender. I already tried reinstall whole game and deleted all files in Kenshi directory.
PS:Under DX9 is everything ok.

I did delete it and reinstall. It's a clean download from steam, no mods, default options. Literally nothing changed. I even tried the experimental version too.

got the same crash.
I m ruinng a laptop under win 8.1 with a intel I5 450m cpu a mobility radeon 5750 + inofficial leshcat drivers and 4gb ram.
EDIT: forgot version nr. 0.74.9 - 64x. I can also confirm that this crush happens in dx11, but not in dx9 Modus.
