Too Close to town?

No matter where I go on the map... when I try to place a building it tells me i'm too close to another town.

I have tried starting new games, re downloaded the game several times. Removed myself from Experimental version just in case... still unable to place anything. I haven't seen anyone else post about this so not sure if its just me or not?

Actually I did try and build some turrets and it gave me the same message.
But I didn't follow up on it.
I will look at it next time I'm playing.

Yes, that happens to me too.
In the middle of nowhere between Black Scratch and Heft exist a great place with a good amount of resources but the game says "it's too close to another town" but go to Brink in that little mountain near the main entrace, you can build whatever you want there (120 iron, 110/120 stone, 10 water and 73 fertility)

Not quite sure if I'm encountering the same problem. I can only build NEAR towns, even in them. This is only with the game I just started however, I haven't had this issue before. Another weird bit about this new game, I started around day 63.

I got this issue to, no matter where I go I can't build anything, I even went all the way out into clear desert just to make sure & still it doesn't let me build, keeps saying I'm too close to a town.

I am getting this to. It seems like the checking is reverse, and the distance where it should say "you are to close to town" is where it lets you build, and the area where it allows you to build is where it should give you that warning.

Basically you are forced to build next to a town.

I have reinstalled and that didn't fix the issue.

I can confirm that this is also the issue I'm having, I was able to build next to a town fine, but when I tried to build away from the town it gave me the warning, After I built near a town though, it seemed to switch back as I was then allowed to build wherever I liked but only in that game, if I started again, I'm still blocked from building away from towns..

Yep, I can confirm this works, although it doesn't seem to be that you can build anywhere. Looks like an outpost has a large radius that you are allowed to build in. but you can keep droping shacks as you extend out to where you want your base to be. Just takes some planning.

Happily, the latest patch fixed this issue.
