Nah, with a bank account you normally have a debit/cash card (not sure about the english name, for everyday actions) and you can get an optional credit card (VISA, mastercard and such).
The difference is that you can use the credit card without having money in your bank account. You'll either pay all the money at the end of the month or you pay it like a credit with monthly installments. Also most of the time, debit/cash cards can't be used for online purchases but credit cards can. At least that's how it works in most european countries...

I am in a European country so I guess it works this way here. Never been to a bank, probably never will. But yeah my mother is strange. She never had a bank account and I doubt she ever will. I guess some parents are just really weird. Although I guess keeping money in our house is much safer than in the bank that's for sure. Unless the bank has soldiers patrolling it 24/7 then yeah. I bet she would keep the money there

Still, poor me. F**king hate my mother for not getting a god damn credit card. I can never get anything online no matter what I do *sigh* it's really damn annoying and tiring. it depends on the countries, some get credit cards automatically with the bank account...
If I were you I'd go and see if i can make a transfer to paypal without a bankaccount. You'd then go to the bank, give them real money and they transfer it to paypal. Not sure if paypal accepts that kind of stuff, you should ask them

For good reason too) and that is because this entire country is racist. You see I am Russian. And because I am Russian in this country everyone thinks I am communist (When I don't even care...) . And guess what? Most people in this country prefer Fascism... Best thing I'd get from my neighbours if I asked them something is a punch in the face and being thrown down the stairs. IF I am lucky. Start your own bank account. You can do it from any age. Bring in some ID, at least 1 dollar/euro/fucking rouble if thats what you use and then get them to start one. Since you have the internet you only need to have internet banking enabled from that point on and can transfer your money around.

Getting money is the slightly harder part. You can work, either at a job or around your community or for your parents. ie. ask for some money and you will do something for them. Alternatively, if you don't care about the morality of it then you yourself said all your family's money is just sitting around the house somehow....

Age is only a minor barrier, the place you live perhaps slightly more of a barrier but if you want to play the game then you either gotta get past these barriers or become a damn dirty pirate (and eyepatches cost money too). Good luck.

Yeah I got that I was just wondering how it feels to see what you have achieved by working. You don't really get the feeling of getting something with random number seen on screen when checking bank account. It isn't fun to wake up every morning just to get bigger number. When I see my account and there is like 500 euros I think I have to go begging for money or something. But when I have 100 in cash I feel like I can buy anything. What about if pay from the whole month is given me in cash? I mean, I could swim in it!! I could buy world with it!!! It looks so much more when money is in material world. And it feels good

One question. Do they bring it home or do you have to go there and get it? If so, you have to walk(or whatever) long way back home with serious cash. What if robber strikes?

The reason i always like to buy things with cash. It feels real, stops stupid impulse purchases and is awesome when you can buy something that costs 2 or 3 thousand dollars in cash. I can't even shut my wallet when I have that much cash.

I like withdrawing cash from ATMs. When I have to buy sth costly, I withdraw a lot of money, then a send that paranoia look to the woman waiting behind me and then i run off laughing like crazy into the sunset

I have 24 euros as 5 cent coins at the moment. Friend has been collecting 5 cents for long time and he owned me. The fucker really OWNED me when he paid in 5 cent coins. -.- But its alright. I'll just wait for a good opportunity to revenge for someone else who puts it on someone else who... My ma gets gets the money over at work. A few thousand a month I think. Its around 5000 euro a month or so... Don't know. Something like that. Still by we end up with barely any money most the time. Expensive living in this damn place.

Oh and nobody would ever bother to rob you here. No point in it since they will probably just get beat up anyways... Yeah my mother is a scary person, I remember some guy tried to steal her purse. Your mother probably doesn't trust banks because they are shifty. In the US, Chase bank will charge you 25USD a month if your savings account falls under 300USD (the yearly interest is around 10cents at most) Also the banks wanted to charge people for using their debt cards. So in both cases we were being charged to use our own money. In my current job I deal with a lot of workers, the maintenance group in our facility is almost completely Eastern European (Mainly Polish and Russians) great bunch of guys.

Thats what confuses me. he said he is russian but the people around him don't like russians. Unless russia is a mixed up, self-loathing country I guess that he must have moved somewhere else within the EU. Maybe somewhere in eastern europe that doesn't like russians very much?

Well she was smart and bought a few houses cheap 10 years back. Now she just rents them out to people and makes quite a bit of money off it. This is probably one of the only ways for foreigners to make money in this country. Since they wont trust you at work here and will rip you off. I am guessing its the same in your country if you buy houses and rent them out. And I am in Cyprus. Its a crappy little racist country that completely hates and shuns Russians. Other than that it would be a good place.

Yeah pretty much. I don't live in Russia because its a pretty horrible country.


EDIT: On the buying houses 10 years back. I just guesstimated that. I think it was more than that. Since my mother lived here 2-3 years before I did. Lets see I'm 17 I came here when I was like 4... So I have been here for around 13 years (Unlucky number ). and she has been here 2-3 years before me so 15-16 years ago she bought a few houses cheaply here... Wow that was a long time ago. Never actually bothered counting how long I was here O_O
