- Will the demo be released simultaneously to the game or afterwards?

That's the only question I have at the moment.

Yes, the release will be a demo, unlockable to full game when you purchase.
So I'm guessing that you download the whole game but can only play/access part of it, and then purchase a serial key with which you can unlock the rest. Like Geneforge and Avernum.

Since Kanshi is a "work in progress" type of game, how would a person holding a valid game license play and update the game? Basically, would Kenshi be activated and updated like minecraft or like a demo file with some type of update option?

You will have to download the patches yourself.

At this point, I estimate end of october.

May I shake your hand and congratulate you on a job well done when the game is released? :)

I will follow this game to its death, which I'm hoping is when Kenshi 2 comes out haha

Also, what exactly is going to be included in the October release? Sorry if it's just a general question, but I was curious as to what exact I am going to be expecting.

I hope there won't be a need for Kenshi 2, Kenshi already sounds like the bestester (that's a word now! It's a combination of better and bestest) game there will ever be. And I do hope that Chris manages to put all his ideas into one game, and that the engine the game runs on is flexible/strong enough to handle any cool, new ideas he might have so he doesn't have to start all over again on another engine.

As for the demo release, I'm not sure as to what there will be, but I can tell you what there won't be, courtesy of page 2 of the front page.
GAMEPLAY
Also gameplay will be very basic at the start:
There wont be much to do at first, except wander from town to town getting in fights and looting.
Currently armour does not act as armourThe medical system is incomplete, and for now healing will be simplified
AI will also be very limited compared to the final version.
The terrain will be bare and empty of features and graphical effects, wind, shadows etc
There's not much in the way of variety, all characters will pretty much look the same. Not much in the way of clothing or hair, and currently no females.
The world map as you see it in the first release does not even cover a quarter of the final map size.
Performance will likely increase at a later date
The pathfinding is buggy
There is no day/night cycle, water, weather, or wildlife
There are no sound effects
Oh, and count me in on the handshaking.
They may take our bees, but they'll never take our piе!

Count me three in the shaking of hands.

The game seems like a great concept and I am looking foward to trying/buying it, and to be honest the graphics I can see (though barebones) are not that bad looking. :D

You take care of the punch, and we'll leave the bees to Magzpierz, he's our local bees specialist.

Did someone say bees?

Let there be bees!

Its a Mulberry bees, They are in season.. In Australia. Be careful though they leave nasty stains, worse then permanent markers.

That looks like a bunch of berries (of the "mul" variety I assume) and juice in a raw bees crust.

bees can derail any thread. The juice, is more of a jelly so it stays together, it is delicious.

Uhmm questions about the October release?

Will there be bees? Or any bees related items, Pi mathematically or bees in general?

Yes, you can use pi to calculate the diameter of round shields.
I do hope there will be an opportunity to eat/bake bees in Kenshi.
And if there isn't I swear upon the graves of my ancestors I will mod that possibility in. As God/Allah/[your_deity_name_here] is my witness, there WILL be bees!

I will open the first official bees shop in my Kenshi world. And by God if any bandits try and raid it, I will bring down my vengeance on them until every one of them has been killed/has eaten my bees. :P

I want to hear your story of how one small bandit-plagued bees shop turned into a mega-corporation whose bees would influence the outcome of wars.

But a bees would be fine too.

Also, these bandits, would they be pierates? :D
