I need to gather a bunch of screenshots and images to use for things like store pages and headers. Its a boring job, and I would rather spend the time working on the game, and so I had the idea: Screenshot Contest!

The rules are simple. Take the most awesomest screenshot you can. It needs to be high-res, preferably 1920x size, and with AA and shadows turned up to max. 16:9 screen size is preferred.

Its something to use as titles and headers, so maybe something with some good shadows and nice terrain in the distance, with a mid-sword-fight action pose going on, at sunset... that's just an example though, it doesn't have to be that.

Maximum of 3 screenshots per person. Post them in this thread.

1st prize: A character name in the game. (and a key)
2nd prize: Name in credits. (and a key)
3rd, 4th, 5th: Free game key

Deadline is this friday!

You could go into windowed mode and use the Windows 7 snipping tool and only take the game window without the HUD.

wouldn't that make me lose part of the screen, resulting in a smaller screenshot?

A little frustrating about the UI especially when it borders the good part of the shot. But it is easy enough to crop that stuff out in post production.

The way the pic shows the bandit as having been run thru, and dropping his sword is great.Even if the game declares it an arm hit :P

But the bug probably makes this unusable for advertising. Its not hard to spot.....

Edit: Don't know what I'm doing wrong... right side of the pics is missing. I uploaded via attachment for the full files. Hope that works.

Come on guys (and girls, if there are any...), we need more contestants! Winning by default is lame.

Or Chris, maybe expand deadline a bit?

Here's mine. I was hoping to do better, but meh.
Being able to turn off the hud would have been a great help, expecially in the first screenshot.
I had managed to move the camera on the roof of one of my buildings, but it's not that clear because of the windows around..oh well.
So, first screen is to show a player built outpost, second one is..well i liked the dawn effect with the shadows and all and catan in the distance and the third one is some good old fighting in the middle of the desert

Hey Old Man Liver, those are some great shots....but about the last one. It's a little creepy how they are all watching him while he sleeps....and is the heavy breathing really necessary?
