Ever since i tried installing Kenshi on steam trying to run this game freezes my pc, even uninstalled and reinstalled on desura and still just freezes up. I tried installing all the redis's but they just say I have newer version already.
Got to the update screen when I reinstalled but nothing past that it just freezs up. Any ideas this didnt happen pre 0.42?

Freeze While Launching
Just so you know you aren't being avoided, let me ask a few basic QA questions.
How are you installing the game?
How are you launching the game?
Were you able to enter gameplay prior to patch .42?
Are there any errors that appear after the game freezes?
If it helps, I too purchased and installed Kenshi through Steam, and I am able to run it fine through Steam and through the .exe in the game's install folder.

Download and installs through Desura or Steam, once downloaded it runs the installer.PnzrNorm wrote:How are you installing the game?

No, after the game updates it just freezes completely and goes nowhere. Any subsequent launches go nowhere, no windows no nothing. Are there any errors that appear after the game freezes?
If you open up Task Manager, is there still a process running for kenshi_STEAM.exe after it freezes? Killing that process might allow you to re-run the application with some better results, but other than that, I would say a list of troubleshooting stuff:
check your video drivers, enough space on hard drive, Task Manager isn't showing a 100% CPU or RAM load before/after/while it freezes, etc.
One thing I have seen before on VERY few games involves crashing/freezing because the motherboard does not have a sound device installed, I doubt that is the case here, but check all the bases just to be sure.
My last hunch would be to delete all traces of Kenshi from your hard drive and re-download it however worked prior to .42 and see if that fixes it.
