In my opinion, most games are only good because you can achieve something.

Sure, it's fun to make a house in the Sims and become president and all that, but once you've achieved all that it's suddenly kind of lame, making replaying it the only way to have more fun (look at Skyrim, half the fun is just replaying it and making new characters/stories. Once you've done it all with that character it's not really that fun to fight a dragon anymore. You need incentive). Well, what if you don't like to build houses or slay dragons in the first place? Suddenly the game is less fun. BUT-- if there was an achievement to build a house of your own or slay your first dragon, a lot of people that normally wouldn't build/slay one would decide to do so, because getting achievements (especially if they give you achievement points that culminate in titles or something) is fun.

Kenshi obviously isn't and shouldn't be about finding ways to make people do things they don't normally think are fun, considering it's more of a niche game, but the fact that achievements are so enticing would improve not only the normally-unexplored content but also improve the content people already love.

Sure, I love fighting a group of bandits and winning. But simply winning isn't a huge payoff for me normally. I would have much more fun if there was an achievement for killing bandit groups (let's say 3 or more is a group). 1 group killed = first achievement. 5 groups = 2nd, 50 = 3rd, 500 = Master Bandit Group Slayer title or something lol.

Simply adding achievements for doing things that people already probably do in the game might not be game-changing or anything, but it does improve the playability immensely.

So yah, it'd be awesome to add achievements, and not the lame type like Minecraft has. =P

As long as it doesn't change gameplay (like giving an advantage) and doesn't force me to find 100 hidden laptops all over the world, i don't see why not^^

Starcraft has a nice system imo, you get to unlock avatars/trophies which gives you bragging rights and you get most achievements either by playing/winning a lot in the different modes or by winning combinations you usually don't try that often (like 1vs2 elite AI). They also have "sniping achievements" like reaching a certain condition within a timelimit (eg kill your first bandit within 10min lol)

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

ya i think when it comes to achievements either do it like blizzard does or dont bother much with them.
those achievements in WOW & SC2 are really what makes me want to play at my best or have reason to grind for something.

I recently finished all of SC2 on brutal just so i can get a portrait that everyone isnt gona have, and most people dont often cheese players who appear better than them.

iLife this idea, but there's one thing I would like to add to it, statistics for everything you do like how many times you got KO'd or how many times you attacked a town then ran away. And give a random achievement for some little thing like in fable how you could kick chickens I loved that.

Then of coarse have the ability to compare your self to your friends, like in just about every game made these days.
