Import Squad

Today the game was able to be played without the bed and interaction crash's.
Am a Steam user.

Im getting an import squad crash.
Its saying i have 0 squad also.

A few times it gets all the way to loading the map and buildings, but won't load my squad and it will then idle in the "not responding" until i force close it.

Have never posted a crash dump before, so i hope im posting it correctly.

Im not sure that crash dump is even the correct crash dump, because im forcing it to close as its just locked up.

I get no crash dump popup.

Just tried again, and im running 0.46.1, but no crash dumps are working, well im not getting any that have the .1 part in it.

Ok it started working again.

Had to uninstall and redownload the steam version.
The 2 recent patches broke my saved games.

It now works again and im starting again from scratch.

Scratch that, loading the character creating part causes me to stop responding again, back to square one.

After 5-6 re-installs and full downloads, i decided to create a full backup copy of the game so i didn't have to keep downloading.

I can get the game working, even from character creation with a completely fresh install.

But i cannot import a squad still.
I was on my squad, created a save and a quicksave, then restarted the game and tried to import them, and immediately i lock up and my game becomes corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and re-installed.

Confirming that all combinations of options available to Import Squad cause the game to load the UI but stop responding immediately afterwards (gameplay screen is entirely black)

Import squad is still broken, and causing people who use it to need to uninstall and reinstall.

I haven't been able to get Import Squad to function at all, even after an uninstall and reinstall. I'll try again though.

What is your exact method for uninstalling and reinstalling?

Im a steam user.

So i use the steam delete game cache, the only way for me to be able to uninstall.

The annoying part is, when i import squad the game corrupts, or 4 files break and i cannot play until i do a full uninstall and reinstall.

After checking game cache through steam when i tried to import, i had 4 files that were "missing and need to be replaced"

Seems like we'll just have to wait for a patch before New Game and Import Squad work again.

Here are things you will need to Know and Do.
This list should save you some confused frustration time and allow you to get back to playing.

• Make a backup of your save file. (don't create the backup inside then Kenshi folder)
• Uninstall.
• Completely remove all left over Files in Kenshi. (make sure Kenshi folder is empty)
• Re-install.
• Update to newest version.
• Don't play yet.
• Make a new folder and copy paste(not cut & paste) the entire Kenshi folder into it, to save having to redownload it everytime.(remember to keep adding your saved games into this backup folder)
• From here you should be able to play, by clicking the Load Game, and selecting the Quicksave.
• Import Squad, does NOT work.(will cause you to need to uninstall and reinstall)
• Continue, does NOT work. (sometimes it does but can lock up the game like Import Squad)
• New Game does NOT work. (if you have a corrupted file or crashed previously, you might not be able to create a New, you will need to go through this list to start a New game)
• Saving games and giving it a Name like "Saved Game 1" will not work, next time you try to load that game you will lock up like Import Squad.
• Loading Game's, only really works by selecting the "Quick Save", even that BKUP file in the list will lock you up sometimes.

• Once you have experienced a Lock up, there is a high probability that the game has corrupted somewhere, and will require you to go through the list above.
• Now whenever you come across a problem like this where it locks and corrupts the game, all you need to do is only copy the save folder over for backup.
  Then you uninstall and reinstall, then copy the back up folder over.
  (im not 100% sure how installing this game works outside of steam)
• With steam users, once you have copied the save folder over, and uninstalled through the steam client, just copy the entire backup folder over into the "Kenshi" folder, then you try to install and let steam verify the game files, this will eliminate it ever having to re-download the game over and over, and should be over in 1-2mins.
  (each time the game updates you may want to update that to your backup folder, unless its just another minor patch, then meh)
