I think the official word from Chris is that they wouldn't be particularly monstrous, but rather variations of humans/humanoids.

My plan is that females will be the same in terms of stats.
They will vary in role though, depending on faction. The norm will be that males and females are just equal in all things, but there will be some factions that have sexist attitudes and cultural differences.
For example Starving bandits will be 50/50 male and females, because they are just desperate hungry people. Dust bandits will be 100% males because they're scumbags who would probably just rape any female members. United cities will have a 50/50 mix in it's military, but Holy Empire will be 100% male because it has a sexist dogma that doesn't allow females to join.
It should also affect certain conversations in-game, the way a faction/character might react to your characters gender (among many other factors too).

If you read Herodotus, the first historian from ancient Greece he discusses the Amazons.

Am just a bit curios, how exactly are they added in this update?
As far as i see, no ladies as NPC, and you cant even change your gender in character creation (buttons greyed out).
Also, i am not playing demo, got the game fully unlocked.

Given that the .58 update will give us women and prisoner cages, how long do you think it'll be before someone makes a news article calling Kenshi sexist, featuring a screenshot/video of a bunch of men keeping dozens of women in cages?

, it´s as simple as they made it look sexist, because Kenshi gives you the freedom too (i guess), not the devs fault, but the perverse mind who did it. Give me lemons and i make lemonade, others will just squish it into the eyes...

Honestly, i'm really happy about the new female characters just because this is a RPG, and i enjoy being able to play a character like myself, it just makes the game more funny and immersive!
EDIT: i read some random post in this topic, please just don't make this game sexist... a woman should be able to be a warrior without being forced to weeping constantly just to make the males feel strong
