I am very excited to see what this month brings to Kenshi. What does everyone think Chris will gift to us? What are we looking forward to the most in the coming future?

Personally, I am looking forward to exploring the far reaches of the new biomes the most. I know we don't have a date or time frame on it but with the screenshots of the new biomes filtering out I have hopes that we will see it by the end of summer. Keep in mind I actually have no idea what I'm talking about... end of summer is my hopes.

Second on my list is towns and factions specifically in the new biomes. Along with them fully functional merchant AI. I would like to think where I placed my town and how I think the new biomes will be added merchants will have no choice but to pass through my city when coming from one of the new areas into the current.

The big, bad, new world map is going to be a while from now according to the Roadmap, but I agree, can't wait to see all the things merged together into one awesome game.

I'm mostly curious about what the other biomes will be. There has to be at least 5 including the desert and swamp to be able to create a world more than 4x the size of the current one.

I also want to see this plan Chris has for NPC outposts appearing at random points.
But before any of that, I just want to assault their outposts rather than defending all the time. Lol

Would be kinda cool of there was a mountain range near some water on the edge of the map, thus making the desert the result of a rain shadow effect. Wiki link for those of you who don't know what it is. I think it'd be pretty cool to have a difficult mountain range to cross, as well as a few ports, and a geographical cause for the desert.

I actually posted in the Kenshi Audio Updates thread about BGM for a frigid mountain pass biome and ports/coastal biome. T'would be really cool to have these biomes.
Here's the quote from my post on that thread.
Without knowing any other biomes (aside from the swamp), I can't help but imagine how cool it would be to cross frigid mountain passes with a driving rhythm of tribal drums and a lone fiddle playing a melody in the background or singing sea shanties with a concertina, or other accordion, along the tropical coast.
I agree that the geological (topological?) layout of the world map should coincide with current climate trends that we see on a daily basis, just to allow for that much more immersion.

I think you're looking for topography. So close. And geology is soil/rock and how it changes.

To make a map of how two or more biomes are connected to each other would be a form of topology, but you're mostly right.
On a macro scale, it would be the geography of the Kenshi-verse as opposed to the topography of the swamp or mountain biomes.

Missions, missions, missions.

Not too much, I think that the sparseness of the world is part of its charm.

I know that the game is not based on the "find blue key, open blue door, get loot" kind of dynamic, but some social structure, NPCs with more to say and things to offer.

Missions offer an excuse to do something that you might not, ordinarily.

I love the concept of open-world sandbox games, but if I am putting myself into the perspective of my character(s), I'm not going to go out looking for bandits, or really do anything, without a reason.

My group has no motivation to go anywhere or do anything at this point, because nobody will starve, and I can remain safe without any further loot or experience just by staying in safe places.

If I was trasnsported into the world of Kenshi in real life, all I would need to do is move into one of the towns and stay there, make friends, maybe start a family, and never leave the compound for any reason.

I want a reason to trek for miles across open bled. Sure, a companion might be captured by cannibals, but why would I ever go near any of them?

I know that Kenshi is not complete, but in my opinion, this is at the top of the priority list for important features.

Also, I want to be able to build a dune buggy.

yay!

Update 0.64
22 MARCH - CAPTAIN DEATHBEARD
Turrets are the main feature this time. They still need a bit of tweeking and balancing but you can now research and build them.
Only crossbow turrets are in for now, harpoon turrets will basically be the next tech level on from them, but I would like to wait and see how the feedback from the first turrets is first.

Of course this will lay the foundation for personal crossbow weapons later on.

FEATURES
Added crossbow turrets!
Added a get up off the floor animation, as a temporary improvement to the medical system feel
Improved the encounter rate, so hopefully you will run into bandits more, like in older versions.
Toughness XP is based on amount of damage received, instead of enemy attack skill. More pain = more gain.
New sky system now in place
Medkits in your inventory have GUI bars to show how full/empty they are.
BUGFIXES
Combat sword hit-boxes and ranges have been refined, so less missing your targets
Characters who cant carry anyone because they've got an injury will let you know, instead of just standing there
Wounded arms now stop dangling once healed
Stacking medkits won't re-charge them, they will merge instead.
Fixed the AI for the "bodyguard" task. It can also now be shift-clicked to make it a permanent job.
Renamed city of Catan to "Capan" since I found out "Catan" is already the name of a well-known boardgame.
Fixed the vanishing hair bug

FUTURE PLANS:
There will be more regular updates over the next few weeks at least, including new walls and crafting stations, and possibly more turrets.
The new pathfinding system will be ready in a few weeks and will solve a lot of bugs with walls, gates and teleporting NPCs. It will also allow for some fun new features in the future.

When we finally start populating the new world map we can integrate these new features into the game a bit more. AI towns and outposts can make use of new models and they will have their own turrets for defence. Stone and metal resources, as well as farming and new resources, will be map location dependent. The current system of bandit assaults will be more based on their faction and town health, and you'll be able to sort them out by wiping them out or assassinating their leaders. Towns will also be designed better to better allow for defence, stealth, thievery, sabotage. We also have new building types coming in, and I've even put in the groundwork code for animals, although that feature is still a ways off (animals are still in concept phase).

OTHER NEWS:
You can now purchase Kenshi from the main site with bitcoins.
We're going to the Rezzed game festival next week (http://www.egxrezzed.net/). Stop by our stand to say hi! Or come by afterwards for a drink!

I want to hunt, track, and to sneak into a town and take out the lord and watch the world implode. As factions destroy each other and I scurt them attack as I see fit and taking out key factors here and there.

But yeah they other bios would be cool to.

I hope the new ai is comen soon. That way I can play the addicting game for as long as I want.

Also can not wait for the other skills to be usable and start to train them up as needed.
