I would like to have hunting in game. I could play this lonely nutter in the middle of no where who does everything by himself and lives hunting moose, bears, cute bunnies and stuff. He'd visit once a year in a city to sell hides and buy rum, narcotics and other necessities.

I think it would be cool if they added there own ideas instead of regular deer, rabbits, mice, etc. basically like a Vulture Raptor like thing that roams around scavenging and pouncing out of nowhere leaving a single person vulnerable to death. More things creative like that.

(its called a Naked Mole Rat its found in Africa dry grasslands and deserts)

They could live in swarms and come out of their burrows/ hives and swarm across players tearing them to pieces they could also make tasty snacks
or how about these:

You could tame and farm their milk and meat?
Or lastly
I made a post about this a while ago named "sand worms" or "death worms"
With Chris bringing up about animals in update 64. I thought to look and see what has been said so far. My suggestion is to go with the theme of the game. By what I can see either the game is in the future after some cataclysmic event or based off of some kind of space travel on another planet kind of thing. Either way the animals we have now will not do.
Atleast that is how I see it.
Like for instance we are in the desert atleast we are so far. So instead of just a horse or a mule or camal have some kind of lizard like animal can be 4 legged but 6 or more would add to the oddity of it. I just fill like haven animals that we know as been pointless and not going with the fill of the game. Can even be some mutated creature of some kind.

Not an animal but yeah you have the idea there. I was thinking more like a horse like creature but with scales and a longer tail. That way it would be like a desert animal that we use. It would or could almost look like the chinese version of a dragon.
I mean look at the desert if you have not dumbed down your graphics to much. You will see bones of animals and not many of them are small. I mean even some that look closer to a dino in size. So why not get creative and step out of the norm with what is living.
Yes and in a post-apocalypse most the ppl can be gone does not mean the jungle and swamps are as well. Just means they have more room to spread and take over what the humans have taken from them.
Also if you looked at the new walls oh how it looks so post-apocalyptic or even something like a sci-fi space colony on some back woods world. Like I have said before it all kinda reminds me of trigun but instead of guns there are swords. But that is about settling another planet. Yet again can play into things and the animals can yet again be something we do not have now or have ever seen.

Going little side tracks here but anyone knows the "origins" of sand worms?
I mean, I have never heard of any real sand worms existing but every game with sand and deserts seem to have (or thought or suggested) sand worms. What's the deal with that? What is the first time ever sand worm was used in game, book, comic,... anything. It just seems too popular to me

they have sand worms in Mongolia. Furthermore, according to the locals, they can "shoot" static electricity at people and kill them.
I probably should not have said this....

I would like to see some bio-luminescent animals and plants at night.
also sharks, giant , overly muscled sand sharks. These sand sharks should also have arms and legs, and carry clubs to beat you to death with.

Dune, desert planet with a bunch of giant worms on it.Santaissick wrote:Going little side tracks here but anyone knows the "origins" of sand worms?

Admiror, O paries, te non cecidisse, qui tot scriptorium taedia sustineas
Shai Chulud would fit setting well, but if had armies in dune 2, for example, it wasnt too dangerous to lose few men. However, Kenshi is more about small squads (now), do Worm would make the game more nerving than interesting.
And yep, hunting!
And again, I suggest varants - they fit in desert and oasis biomes well.

Thanks for all the answers
with the information provided I would believe that, more or less, the first sand worms came from Mongolian mythology.
I can sleep at night again now that I don't have to think about that
