Since these turrets have been implemented I decided it was time to move house from my original outpost spot on a plateau near Cat...i mean Capan. Once there i set out making a fine base in the middle of the wastes and decided to name it "Cassandra" in honor of a favorite show of mine. i added the turrets hpoing they would make a great defense...and they DO.

Normally one to two shots from a MKII can take down any bandit often sending them flying in a hilarious arc across the screen and often leaving them in the sad state you see in the pictures. i cant WAIT for harpoon turrets. The ones that survive the onslaught of arrows are promptly patched up and brought into the walls of Cassandra where they are promptly put into what i like to call "Thinking cages" where they are left to think about why they shouldn't attack peoples outposts. this is growing harder to do now as i'm hastily running out of cages to put them in.

That is why you use them to fight your men. Some will die instantly against your guys that use the heavier weapons there for thinning out the heard. There for only the strong survive to fight another day.

I would use them to fight my men if they didn't immediately try to flee the moment i open the cage doors. granted they have nowhere to run as they are enclosed in my base. it kind of gets annoying to have to send someone to kill off the small pile of huddling cannibals and bandits in the corner or my outpost. i'm hoping at some point you can take the prisoners and use then as such; sparring prisoners if you will, or at the very least allow you to have gladiator fights to the death between them. Maybe one can earn their freedom if they kill all of their friends.

It should be possible to create a training rink of prisoners so long as they are all equipped with weapons and their leader is also imprisoned there.

If you put a wall up around the prison area with a gate. You might have to put a ramp on it some times they like to start out on the wall. But I like to put them in a ring with cells in the middle for the bosses so the will gravitate to there. Then arm and armor them up and fight them. Every once in a while send my guy with a plank in he tends to thin them out with one hit kills.

I'll have to give that a shot; mostly because my base is far too large to just fill with buildings so an arena like that would fill up some much needed void. But the MK II turrets have about a 70% kill ratio so filling up something that large may take some time. I'm looking forward to watching harpoons pin the enemies to the floor or some crazy stuff like that. Also i wonder if towns will have them installed for defense as it would surely be more cost effective AND it would make raiding towns yourself all the more challenging.

By what Chris said yes there will be turrets in the npc towns. Also on a side note have the canable base in sight of my base. But not one of them try to raid me. So I raid them on taking 9 of there men then they followed me back to my base. But what is cool is one of the 9 I took had an attack of 62.

I created a turret training ground. It's a circle of walls facing inward, with a couple turrets on the wall, and several prisoner cages inside. When I want to train, I'll have the trainee get on the turret, and send in one jail keeper. He locks the gate behind himself, and then picks up and puts down prisoners to set them free, then stands there on blocks only. Once the prisoner has been incapacitated, the jail keeper bandages, and locks up the prisoner. Then move to the next cage. Rinse and repeat.

Is this evil of me?

Nope!
Doing the same thing, except I get frustrated with some prisoners and just beat them senseless with the jailer's rusty club. :D

Another addition is you should max armor coverage and equip the weakest weapon (samurai plate and rusty clubs FTW) on the prisoners so turrets won't annihilate them in 3 shots.

On my outer walls there is one gate. Then I made a coradore with another wall from that gate along my outer wall. An then put a gate on it as well. Then put a turret on my outer wall that is close to the second gate. That is my turret practice area.

Get multiple. Its so much fun watching rapid fire bolts flying at targets from an over-the-shoulder perspective.
