Just bought game key not valid with Steam?

Hi I just bought the game, I have tried to play via the download option the Kenshi website however it keeps crashing i thought it would be worth while to try steam as I get a steam key with it

I've tried both codes but neither seem to work with steam, could you please advise.

This is a serious question:
Are you sure you copied the key properly?

Yes both the short code and the long code, So many times steam has blocked me from trying until a period of time

For steam should i be using the big long key or short key? Neither work bare in mind
