Vo.74.6 DirectX 9 Crash on Launch

Pressed play in Steam, reset my graphics to my normal. 1680 x 1050 windowed
presses ok, game screen loads up. stays black screen and crashes.

seams was using DirectX 9

default settings.
revalidated my game cache
then tried to start the game under default settings.
crashed at the same point.

DirectX 9 version.

DirectX 11 loads up so far with no issues.

unfortunately the crash dumps have little information in them. Can you fix it with a total reinstall to a fresh folder?

i got the game to run, just had to change to DirectX 11

Is there a way to change to DirectX 11 without having the config window come up?
