There appears to be a bug for when you try to sell stolen items to a trader they think you stole from them. (e.g. you steal armor from a Dead Cat trader and sell it to the armor trader in United Cities they think you stole from them)

yea that's basically a bug but also isn't. mostly because thievery is still new so not all options are in yet.

its supposed to work out that you can steal items and sell them else where but them not knowing where it came from. though faction stuff would be different, if you have it then they know you stole it from one of their comrades. or picked it up from a dead comrade of theirs. leading them to believe you killed them for it.

A Black market for selling stolen goods i believe is in the works. but for now. i tend to smelt the Armour/weapons down and make it into something else so its no longer seen as stolen.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.

So are the thief-fences non-functional?

This post was before they were added. I personally can't get them to buy much, I always get 'trader doesn't have enough money' so I don't know if that's intentional or not.

Well, messed with one some more, seems like they have a finite amount of cash which doesn't get replenished from buying their items.
Items sold to them also remain stolen, so you can't use them to quickly launder goods.

This kinda limits their usefulness. Still a good source for the ninja headgear at least.

No wait, messed with it some more. Seems like they can handle as much small/cheap stuff as you can put in their inventory.
Every once in a while I could get him to buy a high-price item (4k) as the very first item he bought, but it wouldn't work again so it's likely a bug.
