Missing Formulas

I have been searching both forums and have been unable to find the formula's behind combat and Armour. If i am just dumb, please could you point me in the right direction? If not then is there a reason Chris has not told us?
I love looking at formulas and pretending i understand them, plus i could then work out which heavy Armour actually offers the best protection. As it stands now i am just guessing at what each stat means.
Thanks for any help

But how am i meant to know which is the best if i dont know what the stats mean?Smiley wrote:Are there formula's just put on the best armour u can find :p
Is 0.36 blunt resistance at 100% cover better than 0.40 blunt resistance at 90%..... I must know! My poor Kensheys lives are at stake!
If it ain't Filthy, it ain't right!
And then theres the overlap of coverage between certain items...
These are minor differences which prob dont have a huge impact.
if its 0.04 resistance vs 10% percent coverage ill go for coverage.
If its logical to assume they have 10% chance to hit for full damage vs every hit they land u absorb 0.04 less damage.
I would rather not recieve full damage

there really is no best Armour
its about whats best for your play-style.
many times i play with no heavy Armour and just use ninja rags. mostly because it makes me faster though i give up protection for it.
so best Armour is what you choose it to be and what you want to do.

and then there is stun, although i think that is the % of the damage that it converted to stun damage (not needing medicine), but again i am guessing with my poor Kenshies lives!Smiley wrote:And then theres the overlap of coverage between certain items...

I am not looking for the best Armour, well i am but the best at doing what armours key aim is.. to protect you from pointy things.Hatsune_Neko wrote:there really is no best Armour

I know that light armours are better for stealth play, attack speed and run speed, at the cost of protection and heavy for all out assault and that medium sits in the middle. But i want to know which Heavy armour is best at doing the job of protecting my little kenshies from pointy things.
Basically which one will keep them up fighting for the longest. The stats are very close for the heavy's, some offer more protection coverage, some better stun protection and the other blunt and cut resistance.
There are all these lovely stats and no bloody explanation! I need a formula so i can get my wife to explain it to me!

I am with you on that bit, as long as that is how it actually works.Smiley wrote:And then theres the overlap of coverage between certain items...

But then if you look at the Holy peeps plate, it offers 100% protection form chest and stomach, which is great, much higher than the other two HA's but it has only 40% on the arms, much lower than the other two, and if i am correct that if any stat reaches 0 you are knocked out so it is better to have average cover everywhere than to have just great cover and then poor cover somewhere else.... i think??????

The only formula is still a mystery for me too. Right now I will try a mix of all weapons and armors I could find in experimental version but I think the best armor is double stats over your enemy. I was looking at the difference between prototypes and standard armor and is no real difference to look for higher grade. Anyway, I wish you luck in your struggle since the developers jump to fix that you can knock out a leviathan in stealth mod before a long and numerous report about you cannot pick up dead animal and incinerate them which cause a lot of problems.oo0filthy0oo wrote:I have been searching both forums and have been unable to find the formula's behind combat and Armour. I am starting to think this game was bought by EA or the devs use it as a milking cow since old bugs come out of nothing and the most important are ignored.

Ok, so full chain is better as long as you have the stats to offset the -1 and for an all out assault build were pure ability to take damage is the key then Samurai Plate is the best of the 3 heavy armours, as it has the best resistance, with the best average coverage?Smiley wrote:There is best armor for doing certain stuff :p
But lets take for example chainskirt (25% arm coverage, 4kg) vs chainmail (100% arm coverage, 6kg and -1att/def)
Arms are pretty important in swordfights :p
I think i am getting a better understanding of the stats now.... would still be nice to get a formula though
Thank you both for the help
If it ain't Filthy, it ain't right!
Ninja rags 0.24 and 0.38 at high grade
Ninja rags 0.38 and 0.61 at masterwork
Im pretty sure that will make a difference :p
Offc theres not much difference between prototype and standard. Neither is there alot of difference between an iphone 5 and 6 :p but yet people pay a 400 euro difference. Just to get the new 1.
And about the bugs... some things are easy to fix others require more time.

This guide does a pretty good job explaining the formula. All my tests have found it accurate anyway.

Since we talk about armors and formulas can someone explain to me why half pants cover 100% of the leg as cargopants when halfpants should cover only something between 70% and 90% ? And the only difference I see is one have 80% stun chance while the other have 40%. Is the one with 40% better ?

I believe 80% stun is better. 80% stun means that 80% of the damage will be turned into stun damage, which is the grey damage that does not need medical attention to heal. I maybe wrong though, until we get a formula it is all guess work.Drag00ne wrote:Since we talk about armors and formulas can someone explain to me why half pants cover 100% of the leg as cargopants when halfpants should cover only something between 70% and 90% ? 40% is much better. The stun% is how much of the resisted cut damage is turned into stun damage, not how much received damage is. So something with 100% stun (Looking at you Ninja Rags) has almost no real damage resistance, as all cut damage will be turned in stun damage. So you'd still receive the full cut damage as stun.

Really? Man why can't we get a tool tip or just a simple manual explaining this stuff from the dev!Shidan wrote:40% is much better. It does make sense though when i look at the armours now, the heavy's have no stun resistance except the Merc Plate which has a very low 20%
