Rimworld/Project Zomboid-esque character traits.
The reason why I love those games is because of how different each playthrough is.
And this is mainly due to the fact every traits that make your characters gives you a different experience each time.
some might lead you to slavery until you have enough skills to get out of your shackles. Or to a more balanced or specialized game.
I doubt a Rimworld like system of persistant wound would be good though. But the localisation system is already present so it is not inimaginable.
Animal Husbandry
(From Hatsune on Steam: "taming is a luxury feature that might eventually be added when the Devs have time. ")
Animals, two sexes, babies.
Milking, abbundant high quality meat for pup age bulls, medium quality meat for teens with a few goodies, and medium to bad quality meat for adult meat.
I haven't played much around animals, I've seen Garru and Bull backpacks so I'm thinking you can buy both.
But what if, instead of a backpack, you put a saddle?
What if, instead of a saddle, you put a giant crossbow platform?
I feel bad I have no drawing skills but I can see those gorrilos and beakthings, a character on their back throwing bolts to surrounding ennemies.
Maybe a skill related to that, allowing you more and more interaction with the animals.
I doubt a rookie could mount a gorrillo or a beak thing. Let alone tame one.
And a skill related to simple mechanical creations, one that is not robotics.
Kind of like Fallout, with the science skill. Where after a certain level you can hack, disable or turn ennemies against their allies while in sneak mode.
There is more.
With slavery incoming, it would be good to be able to sell your slaves from town to town with caravans. And when I say caravan I mean it.
Imagine a couple of bulls pushing a wooden carriage with plates of rusty metal to make the car a little sturdier. A patchwork like, cloth/ leather cover, holding 6 skinny enchained slaves or 3 sleeping characters and a few boxes in the back.
Chemistry
Explosive Bombs, Phosphorus bombs, Debilitating gas, sleeping gas, blinding powder, firecrackers to draw ennemies or torture the people in your cages... Ninja stuff, pic related.
Unlikely, but that would be funny.
It kinda goes hand in hand with a last suggestion
One Handed Crossbow
Ranged is coming someday, why not having an expert crossbow of small size with good short range accuracy, good reload speed but very low damage. Needs to be used in pair with chemistry to add poisoned, explosive or smoke projectile.
Needs to be the weapon blueprint you find end game. In a Lost Library garded with top tier NPCs you can only beat with a group of very specialized and god tier characters.
A handful of late suggestions.

slavery is already in game but the player can not enslave. and its not gonna be added officially, though there already is a Mod to do just that but it doesn't work as you would expect.
breeding wont be added.
you haven't gone into detail what high quality meat would do. or the purpose for milking and what that does. and don't forget you would need more storage and buildings just for that, thats a lot of work.
explosives of any type will not be added to the game officially.
no siege weapons will be added officially. plus a crossbow turrets on a Gutter or gorrilos? lol umm thats would be a rather funny sight. especially if it moved which would toss your aim off instantly. plus they are to small.
assassin skill is in game, so you can already disabled people if you're good enough.
though the making them turn against their allies is a first and to me personally not an idea i would like as it's not even remotely believable in a combat situation.
the crossbow one is an odd idea, what's the point of a low damage weapon if you can only access it by defeating extremely high level people? by the time you can do that, the crossbow would be meaningless. by the time you get it, your people could already kill NPC's with nearly 1 or 2 hits. heck i can do that with my lvl 60 in attack character.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

I was obviously speaking of enslavement.
Well once I right clicked on some slave shackles and became a slave, I also saw that you could sell yourself to slavery. So technicaly the game allow you slavery, but not the master position.
I know we can sell and buy slaves, even though I never indulged in such practices. Not in recent builds anyway.
I'll check that mod up.
Too bad, it seemed plausible due to the animals you buy having a sex.
If there is no husbandry, there is no point in making a more complex food system. But if I was to expand on the matter I would say that it would affect the quality of meat based food. Meatwrap poor --40nu, Meatwrap normal -50nu, Meatwrap good -60nu. With an extended cooking system you can funny results. Ranging from +5 to -5nu per ingredient.
Kinda like craftsmithing with the different qualities you unlock and the critical rate.
Milking was an idea thrown out. It would be to broaden gameplay.
What can you make with milk?
Goat, Cows. They provide use with some delicious thrist quenching liquid, with a little time some stinking but tasty cheese or even with some Riceweed. It's delicious.
B..bu..bu... But my boom boom
I imagined gorillo or beak things having platforms on their backs. They are most definitely tall and strong enough to handle such things.
But no husbandry no mount.
I can't stop thinking about a garru saddle or a bull saddle for the cow boys. Maybe even something as crazy as bonedoggo riding cannibals.
Hashashin=/=Ninja *THUNK*
I will just adress the crossbow. But since there is no dynamic weapon selection IG it's kinda pointless.
The idea was to couple the seemingly useless crossbow, into a versatile weapon for the late game with complementary skills thanks to its ammunition. Without such a thing as chemistry I don't see how you can, but maybe with the survival skill.
Spiders are weak creatures inflicting immense damage. they drop fangs. It would be good to poison the darts with some spider poison and inflinct moderate to large limb damage depending the area struck but limiting toughness and armor considerably for a time, making it useful at all levels.
My idea was to use chemistry to use poison in assaults and ambushes, explosives/smoke/phosphorus as disruptives.
Even the most skilled of swordsmen were to be shot in the arm by a bolt that started projecting white smoke and fire, even for a couple of seconds, he/she would stumble, allowing a window of escape. The sort of things useful when you bail out a prisonner.
Of course this would only be efficient on humanoids and small animals with limited effect.
I said good reload speed but no, I should be a one shot per combat thing. Or with a reload casting not allowing movement.
For you wandering why it would be useful anyway at this point. Well I see greyed skills like mass combat, hear about diplomacy and can't help but to smell a race war in Kenshi's air.
Thx for answering.

the milk would be used for making cheese since thirst is not going to be added to the game.
on some items though for food quality, you would need different storage as some only stack in one holder. and all these new items would add more to the texture memory to load and keep track of
though i wouldn't mind a more robust food system, i think this adds a bit too much. maybe add different types of dishes instead of food grades. i belive that can already be modded.

Some ideas liked but currently this team is not so great so they could not manage to add so much thnigs into the game because they have limits.
