After a while you get too much money, have too much food, and have top grade gear. After you turn in bugmaster, the other bounties, and then mod downloaded bounties, you run out of stuff to do.
I understand that when the rest of the features are added, things will be harder, like the extra attack slots and the mass combat skill.
I understand that this is a sandbox game, and they do not want quests.
There needs to be some more end games stuff to do. Not just harsher bounties but some sort of upkeep that will have a grind that is fun to do.
Is it me, or is there a shortage of End game stuff to do?

I hope so, but i am a little concerned. I understand that there is a new bug master, and that there are giant robots to fight with AI core drops.
But what happens once you get all the research? what happens when you get rich?
Once you stop being a poor weakling, the challenge ends, and that is the problem.

Exvept that no matter what. You will still reach that point.
Then you turn to modders who can do and have time to do what the Dev's dont.
If that option is moddable.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

This game isn't a game built around the "end-game", it's about enjoying the journey there. There is not really supposed to be a wealth of activities to do when you get there. Unless you're the type of person who enjoys setting random goals and challenges for themself, or starting new games, you're going to get bored at some point. And there is nothing the devs could ever do to alleviate that without changing the concept of the game dramatically.
Actually there are lots of things that could help and they were all in the original planning for Kenshi at one point.
1. Have weather deteriorate structures. : This currently doesn't happen but it could make maintaining your base more difficult. You would have to have an engineer moving around to maintain things constantly. It would could also be made more substantial with natural disasters like a tornado or earth quake destroying buildings, or may be your wells run dry. An infestation of locust kill all your crops.
2. Raids on towns: There was always supposed to be a way to climb walls. If that happened raids on towns would be much harder to defend against. But on top of that if some raids became stealthy like an assassin sneaking in to try and kill you because United Cites put a contract on your head. Or even a thief who keeps stealing things from your storage or takes all your money.
3. Job Board: they always talked about having a job board to pick up random quest type jobs. I would prefer a complex dialogue that would inherit to all NPCs to allow them to offer clues to treasures or selling of a map that would place chests in random ruins around the world. Or hire you to bring them certain items. Or Rescue someone who was taken prisoner by HN or Cannibals or Fog Princes. It could be scripted to only trigger in specific circumstances.
4. Bounty hunters: I think once you reach a certain level of unpopularity with any faction they should place a permanent bounty on your head, and groups of high level hunters should start stalking you for it.
All things that were in the original plans but have not yet been implemented and would bring more difficulty and excitement to the game at all levels.

Make your own adventure! Free the slaves. Rob the weapons of the reigning parties. Purge the fog. Enjoy the chaos that the relationship engine can generate. I once sold a guy in to slavery, snuck in to break his cell open to turn him in for a bounty, got spotted by a bounty hunter who attacked me, who was then attacked by city guards that were my allies, and turned him in for the bounty. Enjoy the chaotic emergent nature of the game, and watch it roll. Rebuild Hub.

I can see what you mean - although I've been playing multiple games myself. Each time I want to try something else, and then I mod on top of it!
What I would like is scaling enemies - if everyone is supposed to be equal, it would be nice for them to scale with us, at least a little. Instead I've got people with 60 and 70 skill murdering hungry bandits. Muuurder!
If it's possible, it would be nice that it'll gauge the average of the highest 50% of the characters in the area and get stats based on that, +/- the usual. Or have it scale so that if that ^ is between 30-40, try not to spawn hungry bandits anymore. They can be hungry all they want, but it's better than being dead.
I do love the game though!

That sounds terrible. I would like scaling enemies as well but I'd prefer it if it was done in a way that would actually make sense instead of just because my stats went up.Stevegates wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 8:02 amWhat I would like is scaling enemies - if everyone is supposed to be equal, it would be nice for them to scale with us, at least a little. A better way to do it would be to make underpowered groups like the hungry bandits stop aggroing against foes that would clearly outclass them in combat. This is better than removing such groups from view, they serve an important function, they help convey the state of the game world and how shitty and harsh life in kenshi can be.

Wasn't that already a feature more or less (unless it was a mod). Well, atleast for the hungry bandits. When the leader of that group spots you there is a chance that you can talk to him/her to convince them from leaving you alone. I'm not sure if this happens all the time or when you have a certain skillevel though.
...and so my legacy continues...
