I spent $20 buying this on GoG, but all of the mods are on Steam Workshop.
There are websites that allow Steam Workshop mods to be downloaded, but only if the publisher sets the workshop to public.

Please set the workshop to public so that those of us who buy the game on GoG (or anywhere else you may be selling it) can use mods too.

As far as I know, it's up to lofigames to make the workshop public. Thus enabling mods uploaded to the Kenshi workshop to be downloaded publicly.

Given how they made the game available on other platforms, I feel like they really ought to do this. Or provide integration with the nexus like they did with the workshop.

It would be great if the workshop were set to public because then everyone who bought the game could download the most essential mods.

Currently unless people move them from workshop to nexus, there are a lot of mods that just can't be used by people who bought it elsewhere.

and if it was that simple, i think the Dev would do it, but sicne he hasn't, it might be a tad more complex then one would think.

Or it could be that the Dev just hasn't been made aware of the issue. A lot of people don't know that mods can be downloaded from workshop if it's set to public, and Steam has workshop automatically set to private by default, so it's kind of an obscure feature that isn't really explained all that well. So far I only know of a small hand full of devs taking advantage of public workshop to allow people to download mods for games sold elsewhere.

Ah, I wasn't aware it's come up before. Are there any responses from the devs? It's always possible that it came up and no one saw it, I have a feeling that's what happens to most feedback on most sites.

the response would have been them setting the workshop to public
and sicne they haven't.

The Devs are very mod friendly, so if they didn't set it to public it means that one,

they are unable to.

they are able to but doing so would cause a real workload trying to get it setup. which could interfere with developing the game.

they didn't read it, which is very unlikely, maybe 1% chance they didn't. as they read everything that goes on this forum and a good portion of what goes on at the steam forums.

what did happen was people set up a location on Nexus. that was the result of it being asked last time.

I don't know I consider it fairly likely that the dev just didn't see it, I mean there could be a language barrier, and it's possible that the devs are just focusing on getting the game ready for 1.0 and not paying much attention to suggestions at the moment.

People set up Nexus for a lot of games, the problem is that most of the good mods for Kenshi get uploaded to workshop and never get put on Nexus so anyone who bought the game on GoG can't download them.

at the bottom of this topic, it shows who is active in that topic. aka reading it
i catch the Devs in most the topics quite often. hence why i can say that they have most likely read it.

as for the good mods being on steam, there really is nothing we can do about it.
if other services actually make a easy to use upload and update feature then im sure the Dev will look into incorporating it into the games modding ability.
until then.
you just either have to wait, ask the Mods themselves on steam/lo-fi forums, or learn to Mod the game. as there are no other options atm.

it's not
just do not list them as some can and have been known to inject viruses or other programs into the mods.

There are also alternative sites that have different mods.

the nexus has some mods, and then there is that lab that must not be named.

While steam has a lot of nice mods, it also has a bad habit of nukeing some modders from orbit.

Maybe a good work around is someone can coordinate with the steam modders and get them to post on the nexus or another modding website.

We should also petition GOG to get a workshop too.
