yeah i'd says aoe2 is a little better than aoe3.
aoe2 adds a greater variety of maps and nations, aoe3 doesn't really give any of that while giving a campagin that doesn't follow any real story like the other age of empires (atleast in aoe2, don't know about the first one). it also has unbalanced troops, when i face other computers in skrimish mode (i usually go deathmatch, faster and funner, and the only nation good for conquest mode (haven't played it in a long time so i'm only going on memory) is the ottoman empire) they are always quick to build up their military and just defend, have 30 atillery guns faced at my army dosen't give me much of a chance unless i have allies, and even then the enemy will always have there own allies to balance it out, so i'm stuck with enemies that don't attack with any actually force.
aoe2 has the option to have a 2v3 and regicie (defend a king and kill the other kings) and other types of game mode while haveing a campagin that goes with history.
i'm stuck between aom adn aoe2 though, i like them as much as eachother so i can't really decide on which one is better (i know aom doesn't have variety but its about mythology and as far as i know the game has all of mythology there is).

Ok this topic is actually making me want to buy AoE II.Is the variety of units and/or unit cap larger than AoEIII. I am seriously thinking of my next game purchase to be an RTS game,(LAN party) but now I have quite the problem. Should I buy Supreme Commander II or AoE II?

Supcom 2 is not worth your time and certainly not worth your money, it took all the best bits of supcom 1 (the size of the maps the unit redundancy and the strategic use of massive forces) out by the back shed and shot them
the main thing i liked about Supcom 2 was the quicker building times. From what i remember it took way to long to do anything in supcom1. Or maybe thats me being a teenager and being impatient,Prezo wrote:Supcom 2 is not worth your time and certainly not worth your money, it took all the best bits of supcom 1 (the size of the maps the unit redundancy and the strategic use of massive forces) out by the back shed and shot them
But i do still like Supcom 1 better.

From what I've read about Supcom II is that the super abilities/units can be produced in very little time. (I do prefer long death-matches) so I think that AoE II would be a better choice.

aoe2 has every nation in europe and asia, if you get the gold edition you get the aztecs, mayans, and the korean as well as a couple more modes and maps, there are also more campagins added in for the aztecs adn spanierd (also added in).

aztecs, mayans and co were in the Conquerors Expansion. You can get aoe1 plus rome exp. and aoe 2 plus conqueors exp. for less than 7€ in a collector's dvd from ubisoft nowadays. It's always worth at least having the game that did so much for the RTS genre.
If you can try getting your hands on the original Age of empire 2 CD (that way you get the soundtrack while playing, which you don't with the dvd because of the format it was built in...)

after seeing all this talk about AoE I took AoE 1 to school and played LAN with my IT class today. Was awesome until the server crashed because half the map was covered in catapaults.
Alot of good mods out there for the AoE games.

The original AOE II & Expansion read the streaming music of a data track that was on the CD. The CD was a split half data / half redbook Audio CD that read data ingame (the game) and used an internal media player to play the music on the cd while you were playing.wolfwood296 wrote: i don't know the diffrence between dvd and disk but i gusse i have the disk.
The dvd doesn't have that at all (you get the music in a separate folder, so you can listen to it offplay)
BAsically if you can hear music while playing, then you have the original CD (old), if not then you have one of the versions that came afterwards...
Is anyone going to buy diablo3

DIablo 3... Im gonna buy it after a month or two, tbh with all stuff they removed to add later in makes me wonder what im actually gonna get at launch, I want the finnished product also I want to see there no crazy pay for dlc on things we been promised after launch.
But im probably gonna get it, just gonna lean back and wait for some time and see what it turns out to be, because I bet it gonna be a great game.
After all I still play to many games to really have time for a brand new one which costs 50eu...
I atleast got ME3 for free, only played the mp there though, which have now lead to im never again gonna buy a Bioware game or a Ea game, Yes it gonna suck but im feed up being a customer of them.
Here the reason for why. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... /9685812/1 (check out last day updated)

it sounded like they started to just ignore it and try to make it go away.

Yes it seems like that, and I dont get why they would ignore the problem, dont they realise they gonna lose costumers by doing that? :S Im clueless...
They fixed the problem so it wouldn't happen again, but they no longer talking about what they gonna do for those this happened, also thier fix caused new bugs... where instead you get nothing when you open boxes... :S

Forum rules fromhttp://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... /9685812/1 site.
Any way, if Bioware cannot resolve the issues cleanly as possible they will probably scrape together a crappy patch and move on. (they already f***** up big time) Plus EA (A corporation with shareholders) has deadlines that still need to be followed through. (Bioware and everyone else under EA's wing needs to comply with deadlines). I bet if Bioware messes up the new C&C chances are EA would close 'em. (You better believe that Bioware is sweating right now).
It seems that the Bioware forum is under Martial Law.(Gee you think that the customers are a little pissed.)UPDATED (MAR. 2, 2012) Important update to site rules & code of conduct :

Anyone posting a personal attack on staff, moderators or other Community members will, at the sole discretion of staff or moderators, be banned from the BioWare Social Network without notice and is no longer welcomed.
