Hmm, I belive I underestimated the bandits... drastically...
On my second try, I put all my characters full fighting, (not modifying their base strength and the likes) and 1 bandit killed my team of 4.
On the third 2 bandits killed my team, only 1 died, and then the second stood around until he bled until he fell over.
Now I use editor to build army.

ATI x1650 user here, and I'm only seeing swords.
Hiya, I just joined after learning about this yesterday on RPGCodex. Got the alpha working fine, and haven't encountered many bugs (besides the many already mentioned I mean). No graphics glitches to speak of except for ragdolls sometimes stretching out and getting weird. Only one problem I seem to be having that I haven't seen mentioned here. You said that raising a character's blood back to positive will allow them to get up again, but I've tried this with both allies and enemies both before and after their blood has dropped bellow -100 and they never get up. Even after I treat all their wounds and their blood returns to 100 they just lie there. Could it have something to do with my not installing the PhysX software? I've tried to but the installer stalls saying "Please wait while the installer determines your disk space requirements..." and it just hangs there forever.
I've got an GeForce 9600 GT, Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (2.20 GHz each), and 2 gigs of ram.
Edit: Ok, I figured out that you must use the heal command on them once they've recovered their blood to wake them up. Another strange bug I found though is that looting enemies of their weapons doesn't disarm them. They still seem to attack as though they had swords. Your own characters don't do this however.

Okay thanks for the info. If the game runs then you already have physx installed. Lots of commercial games install it.
As for disarming, it is probably that the ground is littered with swords and the enemy picks one up before attacking you.

Okay, so I reduced my view distance in the settings file to 3000 and reduced bandits from 16/5 to 2/2. This DRASTICALLY increased my fps. I'm running perfectly smoothly, now, except for a 3 - 5 second hang at the beginning of the program, right after terrain loads (which I'm assuming is all the npc's being generated).
The pathing appears to be working fine, now, for the healing part, that is. I'm able to use healing on downed allies. However, a new bug seems to have manifested. I encountered a lone bandit that came running at my party, and one of my party members kinda got out in front of the rest and as they hit each other at full speed, he dropped one of my guys in one hit. His bleeding was brought to: "25e+028" and his blood is at -2,147,483,648.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug with the settings or not, but even though I set bandit squads to 2 and squad size to 2, I can see a squad of about 8 enemies wandering around out in the desert. They all spawn on a single position and begin walking in a single file line, one person moving first, then the second moves behind them. It kinda looks like one person splitting into a line of several, lol. I managed to hover my mouse over one to get the red cursor to confirm they are enemies.

Man, I was just thinking, it'd be cool if in the future this game let you take enemies you save from bleeding to death as prisoners to use for ransom or labor or whatever!
I found a new bug. I've been saving my characters and loading them up again at the start of a new game so that they're now half way decent, I've noticed though that from time to time I'll get an enemy that has like, over 300 in most bodyparts, and over 3000 blood. No matter what I do with this guy he won't bleed. It fact, hitting him seems to heal him, though I might be seeing that wrong.
If you play for a while without crashing it, you eventually lose the ability to left click select things in the game window. You have to hold the left button down to see the characters' stats, or select their portrait. Can't say what's causing this.
Picking up swords dropped by enemies doesn't remove the model from their bodies.
Trying to buy something from the trader seems to crash the game.

My badass gaming computer aged 2 years, runs with no problemes whatsoever.
Or maybe I just didn't play enough, because I keep getting slaughtered, by a group of 2 guys.
And running isn't working for me, my guys are bleeding and slow and then drop.
Maybe time to put some points into running. Will the game have a similar character leveling thing in the future, because it's far too much micro-managing for me.
(Might I suggest Roman rank type: Centuries, Legiones, the likes, each menu with different options.

You guys gotta remember, this version he has released is a demo. It's FAR from a completed product. I'm sure Chris has lots of plans to simplify and improve things, but be patient. There's a reason he didn't want to release it, yet.
If you unzip all the archives into the exact same folder, wolf, you'll see the exe file in there. "Kenshi.exe" is the file name. Just look for that.
