During my time in the great dessert I have noticed that factions like the traders guild, western hives and UC samurais will attempt to heal eachothers downed members, despite these members having fought against me and my town.

Out in the wilds this behavior makes sense, however inside my town I don't think this should be the case, particularly for the UC since I am on friendly terms with them myself.

To make matters worse, if the aforementioned downed characters are inside my town walls, characters with the medic job will consistently make an effort to break down my gates, forcing me to fight them to save my gate but also to prevent my enemies from being healed.

EDIT: Moreover, when I decide to intervene in order to prevent healing, since I have to use "attack unprovoked" other neutral squads like the slavers for example will rush to the defense of the people trying to heal my enemies because apparently I am committing a crime in my own town.

Traders Guild and UC heal each other because they are allies. But the hivers makes no sense.

Problem is I am at +47 with the UC myself (not allies yet I know) and it should be the case that a 3rd party respects the laws of my town. They should not be helping even their allies if they are committing crimes in my town.

Otherwise there could be a situation where the alliances chain together where now the UC samurai are trying to heal downed traders guild caravaneers who were breaking down my gates because they were trying to heal downed holy nation soldiers (who are hostile to me). Of course then a western hive caravan shows up and attempts to heal the already downed traders and you have a complete mess where everyone is hostile to me.

My point with this scenario (which is what actually happened) is that you can get these ridiculous chains of events where a town assault from a hostile faction can make all unrelated visiting factions hostile to you.

You are overthinking about how diplomacy works in this game - its not finished yet.

Think simple - hostiles attack (Its about -70 that a faction turn 100% hostile, right?), allies heal each other (as a mechanic not included in "diplomacy"), criminals can be killed without losing rep. And your Outpost is not relevant at all, its just a player area where specific events takes turns... bashing your gates is a crime (punishable with death without reputation changes) but that's all. For more you just need to wait - some factions not even have leaders yet - like the HN.

That's fair enough that this might be a bit of a premature jab at diplomacy and how it interacts with NPCs healing.

However I feel like pointing this out now is important so that it is not overlooked in the final iteration of the diplomacy system. The interactions of different systems with each other is quite important when trying to achieve the intended behavior from AI. Which I suppose in the end is up to the dev to decide.

Edit: In retrospect you could say that this is almost like a feature request. I posted it as a bug because I don't think it is what was intended, even if on a coding basis it is working exactly as it should.

Yes, post in the right area and just wait... if is doable, fun and part of the "rules" (and the engine permit) you have that 0,5% to be in the game in the future xD

Seriously, the odds are always low, but cool features are always welcomed by cool people like the this crazy developers (or should I said crazy developer? I'm always confused about how many people - besides Hunt - is developing this fucking awesome game) xP
