Tech Tree Reset

Howdy. I went to play .45 after spending over a hundred hours on .41 & .42. I did the recommended "import squad into new game." Looks like the tech tree is re-set (I'd maxed it out). "Small Shack" is the only available building. Would my research have been re-set had I done the "buggy" "import with buildings?"
