I was playing through the game (demo) and I was wondering what type of armors are there in the game currently and what would be added. Currently I managed to get the medium Rubberized Steel by Rag Co and was wondering if there are better ones/ bigger ones since I never saw a heavy version of the armors. Are the items sold in shops depend on the build of your character or have they just not been implemented yet?

ive wondered bout the level of armor in the shops and if it was dependent on the level of your character. i do remember reading on the main website that all levels are available at all times and that the newest characters cannot afford those awesome items in the shops inventories--but still was wondering if they got better as we got better.

i am excited about new armor coming out though... and i really hope different styles come out as well such as maybe some middle eastern style swords and armor as well as western styles. and maybe even styles that we dont know of yet. :o

All armor is available in the shops at all levels. Only a few of the strongest pieces of armor aren't available, but that's only because they're at shops in farther away towns.

I agree with TX, though. I'd really enjoy seeing an updated item list come out soon. It would give the game more diversity, which then transfers into better gameplay and more appeal. =D

ive been to the farthest towns south and seen what they have--guess ill go north and see what they have.

it would be cool for the mercenaries to sell much higher stuff. more like elite stuff for those who can afford it and make their way to the outposts. im sure a lot of these ideas are already written down by the greatone but i like talking bout em! :D

anyways....

You'll also be able to research for better weapons and armour, then you can craft them (out of stuff you find or buy i guess)

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

i hope there will be some limit to the armor since having an army outfitted with the best equipment you can research, buy, or craft would probobly make the game less fun (having instante wins isn't fun) and way to easy. mabye there could be a perfect armor that were only made by some ancient factory that was blown up or something, that way there would only be a couple suits of the armor left (or have only been found). the same with the other equipment.

My guess will be the higher tier armor will require rare and limited materials, so you'll only be able to outfit your higher level officers/you in it. :)

isn't it part of any game to reach the ultimate armour?
It's the road to that particular armour that counts^^

yes getting the best stuff is the main objective in any game, but having a chance to get an unlimated amount of the equipment is almost the equivalent cheating (since most people get cheats to have the best stuff)

I agree. I enjoy always striving for better armor. Grinding away to get that helmet or breastplate for my guy. Makes the game way more fun... inky then to find a new one and give my guys hand me downs.

Right now money is pretty easy to get due to NPCs not taking loot and such, stupid and easily trickable AI, low supply costs, so high teir armor is very affordable.

and then you raid an outpost and steal shopkeeper inventories and suddenly you have millions

The best I managed to get is the rubberized steel medium armor by Rag Co.

now that i'm thinking what does blunt resistance, cut resistance, and cut dampening do?

if it was just blunt and cut resistance it would be easy to understance but with the dampening thing i'm confused.

I guess it may mean the impact force behind the blade? You can still get a bad bruise or broken bones if you are hit by a heavy blade. Try playing dwarf fortress.

i do play that but df doesn't have cut dampening jsut resistance (as far as i know)
Tarc wrote:Well Cut dampening is a tad odd. It's the amount of cut damage that becomes stun damage instead.

makes sense, the higher the dampening the less shock you get from getting hit (kinda like dexterity)

Also as for the best armor I've found, it'd have to be the Empire body armor. .9 cut, .7 blunt. Also after looking around in the FCS and testing a few things, the numbers for resistance aren't static. 1 is perfect defense, and 0 is none, so I'm guessing it is based more on a percentage system.

where do you find this? i'm guessing the imperial empire but i haven't found any armor like that on their soldiers

Ok, stun dmg? That makes a ton of sense.
What is FCS? How is your fort?
