I'm kind of new to this game, and I finally got my army. I decided to construct things, one of them that stood out was to build walls, but somehow I don't see the build options for them. Do I have to go city to city to find the research blueprints for them or...?

The first level of walls should be available from tech level 2 onwards, so long as you research them.

a little advice tho, since pathfinding is kinda screwed up in this game. Don't bother building tech lvl 1 walls, go straight to tech 2 walls. Reason being is that tech 1 walls aren't able to have ramps going to them, so if you get stuck on top of a tech 1 wall, you're screwed until someone else in your squad dismantles the tech 1 wall, which defeats the purpose of building the wall in the first place.

i will follow that idea.
I would just avoid building walls at all honestly. When I built mine on my current save game they made the load time take a considerable amount of time.

It probably has to do with each section being counted as one building, still the mounted turrets are pretty amazing.
