Personally, I just check Chris's Twitter at twitter.com/lofigames

And the point of supporting and participating in any indie game's Early Access, Alpha, Beta, or whatever development phase, is to go the extra mile and participate in as many discussions as possible.EternalAmbiguity wrote:...I personally am invested and interested enough to "go the extra mile" and have accounts separate from Steam. Most aren't.
I want to point out again that I think you're being entirely unfair with your last statement. It's not about them "not thinking the world exists outside of a single forum." It's about convenience. It's the hallmark of the twenty-first century: the reason why we have things like Steam and consoles and smartphones and such. You're making vaguely derogatory comments when that really isn't necessarily true.PnzrNorm wrote: And the point of supporting and participating in any indie game's Early Access, Alpha, Beta, or whatever development phase, is to go the extra mile and participate in as many discussions as possible.
Essentially trying to create a digitized version of yourself within their offices that the team can rely upon for continued support, lest you become a statistic such as, "There are X # of people saying 'this feature sucks' and Y # of people asking questions about when the next update is coming".
Its not that users choosing to stay on a single forum are lazy, they're just missing out on a lot and haven't thought that a world exists outside of said single forum.
Yeah no. As much as I would like to think it would be that simple...Mattk50 wrote:One thing is im not really sure i like how the forums have been split between steam and here. Normally steam forums are just left with a single subforum if there's already a solid game forum and used for general steam stuff while more robust discussion can go on on the main forums.
Its not a big gripe. I just wish i could follow one forum and still be able to see all the dev posts, i know chris posts over there more than here recently.
Well, as w30wnz said, the only real difference between the two forums I reckon are just the questions asked. Steam needs lots of attention because of the significantly larger amount of traffic it gets, but still I'd say we post on both forums equally (although Chris has been less active on both these days)?Mattk50 wrote:One thing is im not really sure i like how the forums have been split between steam and here. I personally hope so, I've been hyped up since i heard about it :3Butta wrote:Maybew30wnz wrote:Experimental version this week?
unfortunately for you, that is not how game development works.. And the fact that this is the way you see things should be a clear indicator that Early Access is not something for you/you should get into.vpb wrote:I would like to see the development team focus more on fixing bugs and less on adding new features. Once you get the game working then would be a good time for expansions.
i would have to agree.HalbesEi wrote:Well my critic point would be that there is a roadmad ... which isn't really being updated in any appreciable time period
Just for arguments sake - would it be so hard to take the few minutes it takes to update this thing once a month or so?
A roadmap isn't much use if it is outdated most of the time (once a month seems reasonable to me)
perhaps some jobs like the corpse furnace disposal should have the character patrol? that would help them find bodies more they could just patrol areas within the walls(around if the gates open) to look for bodies , same with the furance and loot to ore conversion.Alafff wrote:Next rant : the new LoS system seems to have broken the game a little , i see people not picking up corpse anymore for furnace , i see people standing there not helping there friends getting wrecked 2meters away. Finally Harpoon became useless for the same reason , the mate don't wanna shoot anyone and get caught into melee (And she have 25 in turrets skill and handling a multi barreled turret) , it seems my squad went pacifist in a matter of days and /or stupid too.
I'm facing the opposite issue.. It's like my entire team is a mindhive connected through some psychological link or something... Sometimes it feels like wherever I am on the map, if some bandit or something so much as looks at one of my units funny, my entire civilization comes rushing to dismember them, but the danger will have been LONG gone by the time they'd actually get there..Alafff wrote:Next rant : the new LoS system seems to have broken the game a little , i see people not picking up corpse anymore for furnace , i see people standing there not helping there friends getting wrecked 2meters away.
