I was wondering if someone could post a link for me. I want to know what all the stats do and how to raise each one. I have some general ideas, but sometimes I have been wrong. So I need a bit O' help.
Thank you in advance.

Have you checked much around the forums here? There was a thread not 2 days ago that had this info in it.

If you have a specific question that was not covered there then of course ask away but I, at least, am not going to rewrite the entire threads worth of information in here. Especially when it is so recent.

Oops sorry. I forgot to mention that I used the search function for that. Did not bring anything up in topics, must have an odd name or I am truly blind.
As for re-typing. I will quote myself

I looked did not see what I was looking for and I really don't want to go through every post the search function gave me with the word "stat", or "stat increase", and other such things I typed in. Just want one little thing.
Besides providing a link would've taken less time :) ;)

Not really. I would have to go find it myself. And secondly, it breeds a culture of laziness among forum users. That ends up costing me more time in the future since I post so regularly.

Having said that, if I had the link at hand I would have posted it but it is quite literally in the top 5 or 10 threads on the first page of one of the subforums. You can find it without a search function.

If you meant the "About weapon skills" thread in gameplay forum, it's not what I need. Has some info, but not enough. I looked at the wiki, but that is lacking.

Oh, touch'e good sir

I assumed you may have a link. Made an ass outta myself. I will look around some more for what I need, but If I can't find it I will ask again.

By all means. If anything is still unclear then the community is pretty good for the most part; someone will be able to answer you.

Thank you for your help DerekRJ21. It's good, but not as informative as I would hope. If I knew what I was asking about I'd go and add to that wiki.
Is it just that not enough is known about those particular mechanics?

I did not completely fill out the page because I was not completely sure on all of the mechanics. I know that Science and Labouring aren't currently used until research is in. Other then those two, the rest are pretty easy. Field Medic is used for First Aid, etc. Any specific questions?

Raise the STRENGTH stat by wielding and using heavy weapons. I go by the weight of the actual weapon, some heavy weapons are heavier than others.

Raise DEXTERITY by using katanas. Light, extended or short all seem to add to Dex. Which lets you land more hits...which lets you earn more Dex.

Over time strength seems to rise a little even when using katanas but grows quickly when using Fragment Axes and 100% blunt weapons.

The attack and defense skills make their own sense and raise based on successful attacks and blocks. Much like the game Morrowind repeated use of a skill rapidly raises that skill and failures count a tiny bit too.

A quick way to raise stats:

I will raise my defense first by blocking only until I reach around 40 or so. Just get dust bandits to help you out. Try not to stay surrounded by running a short distance away then quickly targeting the closest pursuer to catch a few blows before you are surrounded again.Wash, Rinse, Repeat. While in defensive stance you will have an extra 20 defense so make sure to account for that and train till the base stat is 40 or so. Once defense is good I will attack any bandit I see and easily block most attacks which further raises the defense stat while training up the attack stat. I use katanas in the beginning. Once attack reaches 40 or so I switch to Sabers which are heavier and then I attack townspeople and caravans too. When you find that everyone is dead, just save and exit to the menu and do New Game Import Squad. Then begin the killing spree again. Once strength reaches 40 or so I switch to the heaviest weapon I can find and train strength. Once strength reaches 90 or so I switch to a long katana-extended and I am now the wind of death. Also, I heal any enemies that I don't kill outright so I can fight them some more while raising the medic skill at the same time.

This method, of course, is an exploit of the current Import Squad - New Game option but it lets me have a character that can go anywhere and look at want I want to look at without being bothered too much with managing other squad members.

That's helpful! Thank you again!
So if I read right in another thread

Strength affects only blunt damage. Is this correct?
Most of those stats on the INFO tab make sense to me, with a few that don't. My biggest thing, is those in the STATS tab. Athletics, for instance. What does it affect? The others I can assume what they affect, but how do I increase these? If there is a way.

Athletics is running speed. There is no way, currently, to increase it in game.

I've started a character who had, for some reason, lower athletics than the norm and so he ran slower. Some bandits and sand ninja's have higher than 30 and run faster. Given time, a way to increase it will become available.

I'm not sure about strength only affecting blunt damage. I think it modifies a lot of things. So, presumably, strength modifies blunt damage the most but also cut damage and other things in practical ways. I don't think the type of weapon matters as much as it's properties do when it comes to how your stats affect damage.

Most of the skills and stats in the STATS tab haven't been implemented yet and have no function. I believe that in the future all skills and stats will be increased through use. This is already the case with the skills that are working like engineering from building and medic from healing. The more you do a thing the better you get. All of the weapon skills and the attack and defend skills increase through use as well. A successful swing of a katana raises attack, katana, dexterity and strength a little bit. With a heavy blunt weapon it would be the blunt, heavy, strength, attack and dexterity skills affected but in different proportions.

STR modifies blunt damage. Dex modifies cutting damage, but to a lesser extent than the STR->blunt relationship.

Str also gives you more blood. but I believe that is bugged currently and doesn't increase.

DEX affects blocking speed and possibly attacking speed.

The strength-blood aspect is bugged it seems. I have a guy with 4 strength(piddly I know but can only game after classes are over and Daughters asleep) and still default amount of blood. Alright sounds good. Thanks guys.

Yes. The strength is bugged, it doesn't affect blood at the moment. My strength is 80 if I remember right and max blood is still 75.

Hmm.... I thought 100 is max... Apparently that is not. Or do you have mods that have changed the skill cap? That can be also bug.
