Ninja are masters in the art of hiding in the environment, during during day and night, to kill their target.

Well, in Kenshi, they are not like this. They are black dots in the middle of a desert, and dont even try to sneak behind you to take you by surprise.

I think that at least, the fact they are all in black should be changed to fit their name, the "Sand Ninja".

What do you think?

Right now I am pretty sure they are just a stronger enemy than bandits. If you look through the skills you can see stats like Stealth/Thievery/Assassination. I'm sure later on Chris will implement something to make them more.... Ninja-ey...

EDIT: Also, day/night cycle isn't in yet. So nighttime ninjas may be harder to spot.

I see what he's saying. All he's suggesting is sand ninjas having SAND colored outfits. My guess is that that would be pretty simple to implement... as far as I know...

I'm happy with the current ninja clothes. I can't picture ninjas wearing sand-colored clothes.

When talking of a sand outfit, its not a camo outfit, its just some clothes that are harder to see in the middle of a desert.

Its just to get a more roleplay view, because, someone walking in a desert is still a dot in the middle of nowhere.

This will probably be resolved once they've redone the art assets and style, which is currently in progress as we speak (see most recent news update).

Also, the perception skill will (hopefully) make it so enemies are not easy to identify initially unless practiced, meaning that you won't be sure if that black dot will be a ninja, or in fact something different altogether.

In real life, the ninjas would actually look like traders, because looking like a normal person is not as suspicious as looking like a ninja.

LOL, Kenshi isn't real life! Although I do see your point, but then they lose their ninja luster...

Yeah they'd be more CIA like than anything. Doesn't matter anyways since I have positive relations with them.

In Japan, ninjas were also smugglers trying to make a living. This should be either another skill added to the ninja or another character type.

Where do you get these 'facts' from? I mean, this makes no sense at all.

'Ninja clans' were just samurai family groups who specialised/engaged heavily in more stealth work. normally they were lesser clans that were unable to compete militarily with the others or were subclans within a larger clan group. They may have smuggled secret documents but they were not 'smugglers trying to make a living'.
