This game is very unique in its own way. I like how where you can make your own army and customize it to your liking. As I played through the game, It had lots of early and late Japanese references. The only thing this game is missing ( In my opinion ) is weapons and enemy NPCs. Most of the game is based on the modern time, for example machinery. This game also reminds me of post apocalyptic scenery.

Enough of my Balbing ._.

Muskets ( A finite gun " BOOM STICK :3 " )

Muskets are used almost everywhere in Japan in the Shogun time (War between different parts of Japan).
As you might notice I stated that "Kenshi" is based on modern post apocalypse. I was hoping this game could have some Musket guns, NOT BOWS, Musket guns.

In my opinion Muskets should be EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND. Or can be only crafted.
It should take ALONG ASS time to reload. (3-5 seconds)

Hope you guys like the Idea :0

its not likely that chris will add musket, and if they are added they should have a more realistic reloead time, wich must be around 15 sec,and its extremly inaccurate .

Muskets are actually worse weapons than bows. The difference is that muskets require little to no training to use to their full effectiveness, while a good bowman takes a dozen or two years of training. Making them some sort of rare superpowered weapon would make no sense, realistically.

Even if not taken realistically, I dont see what they'd add to gameplay over just a high quality expensive bow.

It will make swords useless, so no. Actually, it's been suggested a mod of muskets after bows and other stuff is implemented.

exactly! yes the musket takes a long time to load and doesn't need a lot of training, BUT everyone here has forgotten ever single war fought with musket (napoleon, American civil war, ect (only ones I know for sure)) had one thing in common with the muskets. Mass volleys! it doesn't matter if it takes 2 seconds of a whole min if that one volley of 30 muskets kills or mains the opposition.

yes it has been suggested that they could be rare or could only be crafted but then doesn't make sense when they add stuff about post apocolyps (which this game may not be based on). look at the world today and you got thousands of guns of not millions or billions and redundant blueprints to make the weapons and ammo (which we have enough of to kill every single person in the world). I am pretty sure that guns would be common, maybe even more common then swords we are using right now.

now there will probobley be people saying that if you don't want muskets then don't use but when you put muskets in you got to be able to use them exactly the same as computers which would mean that they would have mass volleys as well, so how many people would like starting out roaming with holy empire or some faction when all of a sudden you got lines of muskets surrounding your group and you are taken out in that one mass volley. yes some people with just laugh it off but people who have really bad luck with stuff like that it would most likely a lot and I couldn't just laugh if off after the 3rd or 4th time getting shot up.

In order to have a large volley like that, you would also need that many people. And that many guns. So you would have to have superior numbers for them to be effective. There's also a reason that we don't fight in lines anymore; it's just not very effective unless your opponent is in a tightly packed group or a line. A group of swordsmen/bowmen could easily spread out and rush a gun line from multiple angles, especially when the guns only get one shot.

The early musket was inferior in almost every way to the bow, including range. The only positives they have are the low training time, and the intimidation caused by the noise and smoke. There's also the chance of misfire, and an inability to use when wet. Also: I'm not sure so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't early muskets from before the time of Interchangeable Parts? That would make upkeep on them even more costly to have to custom repair each one.

Yet, the empire wold not hesitate to use that many people and could produce easelly that many guns, considering they got alot of powerfull cities.
And if muskets are that bad, then they will NOT be considered worth it, being therefore obsolete in the world of Kenshi.

tolwrath all true but there isn't rain every single day AND people still had a chance to keep the powder dry for the first shot (which is all they would need do kill or maim you). Also the chance of miss fire is very little and when the groups and armies get to huge sizes (which chris confirmed that they will get bigger when you get stronger) they would probobley have a battalion of people just for muskets (which in my rotc class in about 70 people), and a huge group of musket men could probably a lot off shots off.

I also agree the isuck345 since if chris made them as bad as what tolwrath just said why would we want t use them? it would just be a waste of animation.

Let me put it this way: if muskets were in the game I would enjoy the challenge of beating them. When I unlocked them through research for my own faction, I probably wouldn't build them. I'd wait until my faction researched a gun which used cartridges (ammunition that contains bullet, primer, and propellant within a casing) to build firearms. The only reason I would use a non-cartridge gun, would be to equip an emergency militia in case of an attack.

I'm not against them being in the game.

I'd prefer having them as a mod. Also, as you all said, they require EXTENSIVE maintenance. That wold put a rather huge dent on the economy of others, expecially if they had entire armies with only muskets. The current industry is too unnaceptable to accept such cost, therefore we wold need ANOTHER type of industry, a REALLY valuable one that can allow us to have to money to keep at least 3 companies without going bankrupt.
