does using a training dummy increase STR

just curious if using a training dummy counts as "combat" and thus lets my guys increase in strength while they use it.
i've thought of doing that since my rum production line only gives me 1 free guy so i can't just carry someone around without a bottleneck appearing somewhere

Training dummies are only for attack skill, for strength you have to load them up with loot so they're at Heavy and have em do sprints to your mine, to the farm, and back or something like that.

Loot? Psh, do it like a real survivor, and lug one of your defeated enemies around on your shoulders. and yell "YEA! I'm a REAL MAN! RAWR!"

Hehehe I have one guy I have named Mulebob, right after I hired him I handed him a pack full of Katana's (take up less space but still weigh enough to notice) and plopped the body of a Dust bandit boss at his feet to haul around...after filling the bosses inventory with even more weapons of massive weight. Ol' Mulebob then did the kessel....er Clowtown run between my outpost and the city named clown something. Sure he got ko'd a time or two but in just a few runs his str is up to 10 and he is quite proficient at hauling loot back from battles as well as building materials. For an added boost make sure the corpse you pick up also has a bag full of gear. He will walk 1 foot every week but he will go straight conan the barbarian in the process.

From what I can tell training dummies will raise your attack skill to a max or 4, but it is well worth it to send all new hires to one till they hit that.
