Yeah, I just noticed. It seems I'm now officially a moderator. Does that mean I'm now entitled to some celebratory bees?

Well, I suppose this means it's true what they say on almost every forum: "The only way to become a moderator is by being a helpful and friendly member of the community, stop begging us to make you a mod please, you have to earn it."

Should I now choose a moderator color for when I make moderator-y announcements (eg: "this topic is full of hate-speech and has been locked", or "moved to general discussion")? Green perhaps? Or big bold red letters, inciting fear wherever they go?

I'll think about this for a while, red is an obvious choice, but it has been done so many times. I rather like the bold green one.

But I guess for now I'll better go to the bug report forums and try to move the junk topics over to here, hmm, I wonder if I have that power. Ooh, there's a button here labeled "moderator control panel", now a certain saying comes to mind, "with great power comes great responsi-" Cool, I have a ban user option in here!

*ahem*, what I wanted to say was that I will do my best to be a responsible moderator, and I shall use my powers in a way that is beneficial to all, and not abuse them to bully people around.

And perhaps, one day, some of you might take the green and join the ranks of the moderators. Just keep on being helpful and nice, it really works, I can know!

EDIT: dont make it green (green is a nice color thats says to continue (when in a car or trying to cross a street) maybe u can make a nice picture you'll add each time u crack down on us poor commoners

Oh, no green? Well, anyway I've only made two posts in "moderator"-form yet, so I suppose I could still change the color. But I didn't want to go with red since almost every moderator on almost every forum uses that color (yeah, I suppose there's a reason for that, but still), and I wanted to try something new.

Btw, if you think that a moderator's actions were unfair/wrong/mistaken, feel free to contact any of us (including me), and we'll take a look at the problem.

Well, I can't say I never wanted/hoped to become a moderator, but it still came as a (pleasant) surprise when I saw my name suddenly being green.

I did spend almost a whole five minutes thinking up the celebration speech when I saw my status had been upgraded though!

By the way, does anyone knows if it's still possible to edit a post within a locked thread? I've been considering locking 1337's "bug report example" thread so people who don't read his first line ("don't reply to this post") can't post in the thread, but I don't want to lock him out of his post if it needs to be changed for some reason.

The phpBB FAQ is a little vague on this point (or I'm just not looking in the right places), so I'm not gonna mess with locking stuff for now.

Back about he color, if green isn't any good, perhaps Orange could be considered? I have no idea if there is a standard modding color on this forum, as the only other moderator I know of (windexglow) never used colors! Meh, I still have time, and I can always go back and edit my posts if I change my mind

EDIT: I just saw Kenshi's been released. I'm downloading the torrent file now and will seed for as long as possible once it's finished.
