problems using research bench tier 2

I recently built a tier two research bench but my companions walk to it then move away then stop dit I place this thing wrong or what ? Is elevation affecting it I will build it again and try to figure it out I noticed it said 0/0 workers and it had a power level. Is this an automatic bench pls help

yea its auto reschers you dont need workers for it

I had the same thing happen... but its no biggie :)
