I think it would be a good idea if factions [like for example the sand bandits or slavers] had their own bases. This could be where they are most powerful, populated, and perhaps a leader/boss type thing would be at. I'm not sure what these bases would do or the benefit, but it would make sense to have these bases- these factions didn't form from nothing.
It wouldn't just be the "bad" guys who get bases, but the "good" factions as well.
Thanks.

This is something that is likely planned, I'm sure we'll see a number of currently nonexistent or baseless factions having home bases when the map is expanded to the full intended size. Currently you cannot take over an enemy base, and there are no randomly generated quests, and enemies do not send large armies to conquer our outposts. However all of that is slated to change, and while I don't imagine Hungry Bandits will be likely to get a base Dust Bandits may, and the Sand Ninjas almost certainly will have some sort of outpost. While these things may not happen exactly when the map is expanded, if they aren't in fairly soon afterwards I am certain someone will mod them in.

I really like this idea, that way when you send bad guys running off into the sand, it would be possible to follow them to where they live... good times. I remember reading some talk about the forums saying that eventually AI bases and cities might be randomly generated? I think this would work well for this, that way you couldnt just remember where the bad guys are based, would need to find them every game in a different spot.

Another thing I would like to see would be factions getting stronger and weaker baised on how well they do, ie, how many slaves they carry off, how much loot, ect ect. I like the boss idea too, although if you killed one and/or there base, they should get another base and commander somewhere else. Criminal groups like that are always the hydra, cut off the head, two more grow back.

Just some thoughts. :)

Yea, having the bases randomly generated on the map would be better than just having them in one place.

Why not have both? By that I mean when you destroy say a dust bandit base who or a sand nijnja base why not have a group of hungry bandits or canabals move into the now vacant lot after some time, unless you burn the place to the ground. Have the other bandits and varooius cults and stronger angry factions build bases randomly in other places.

And something else with the vacant lots for building have some towns people move in and squat there and create a town. On the old base because I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to build an entirely new town if there was one already in place. Another thing is why not give us the ability to capture the bases and use it for ourselves then give the bandits a chance to try and reassult the base so in a sense let it be fought over by bandits

Yea I agree. A fun part of taking it over might be that your reputation with the faction would go down a lot, resulting in them constantly attacking it for a while. There could be something political about it as well, where maybe two different factions might try to buy it from you, and so on.

The faction bases that are set in the map permanently would be the most powerful (this is just my opinion,) and then the other ones that are randomly generated could be outposts and such. Clearing out a powerful one wouldn't mean you've just exterminated the whole faction; and a new one would spring up later. Maybe you'd catch wind of this and maybe you wouldn't. If you don't, they just get stronger and stronger until they are upon you!
It sounds exciting, though! :D

Taking over bases is a featured topic, so if the enemies would have bases even if bandits i beieve they would be "takeable", i not sure right word now lol, unless they had some kind of special base which would rather be useless to take or not worth.
It s Hbrown!! Gotta get some pies!
