I would like to see formations or something of the sort. I have 16 characters now and when i'm traveling they run at different speeds and get strung out. I would like see a formation mechanic or something similar so characters only run as fast as the slowest member in that formation/squad/grouping ect.
Something like what traditional RTS games have to create groups normally using control-number key. This would be nice for quick access to specific characters. Especially if you have a given role for certain characters in mind.
Also the ability to set character to guard mode. So they will stay in position unless an enemy gets too close. Then they will engage, and after the engagement return to where they were. This would be useful especially because it seems walls (as well as some other buildings) were removed since last i played.
Formations
Atm you can use the block action to act like this, the oponent will not ignore him, but he will block, and if the offensive force finds any other oponent on the way will rather turn to them, and thye will stand in their location blocking.LostSaint6689 wrote:Also the ability to set character to guard mode. I belive with the ability of be able to have more members than at the moment we might have some sort of grouping or squading indeed, at lesati liek to think so xD.
It s Hbrown!! Gotta get some pies!
as a temporary solution to different run speeds, have everyone else on follow on the slowest char. just keep in mind they will stop following and go chase down any nearby threats and have to be told to follow again. did this during a mass move where i left my origional base near heft to set one up in the deserts to the north. more bandits to train my guys on.

Honestly this sounds like a good idea. I personally would like to see group tabs set above the characters that you can make depending on the groups. For example tab 1 could be named traders and you could set all traders in tab to make quick access that way you dont have to remember who did what later on. This would also help with combat to make heavy weapon squads, ninja squads and base units to give it a bit of an edge rather then just send in all units and get them mixed up.

well i like how thay get spread out of a distance as you are running them it forces you to pay attention to you slowes men and it makes sense for some to be slower if thay are over loaded. But it would me nice if along with a building research tree if there was a combat research tree that you could build up throw a dojo of some sort in order to get new moves or formations ect. just an idea because any army or fighting force does not fust know how to do formations they have to learn it some where and it fits the style of the game to have a dojo.
please think about it and let me know what you think of my idea thanks

This Topic has been discussed and confirmed by Chris. The search function and list of suggestions works fairly well for this sort of thing. I don't mean to discourage people from coming up with ideas in relation to formations, and thread necromancy from 2010 and such isn't encouraged, but bumping a thread with a "new" idea that has been discussed thoroughly and confirmed is something of a breach of etiquette at least, and for future reference posting new threads without searching for threads covering the topic is actually a breach of the posting guidelines.

Sorry, i won't post anymore. I don't have time to search the forums to see if its already been added. Search functions on forums always seem disorganized to me. I'm also not a huge forum user.
