Perhaps you're asking why it takes so long to download? I reinstalled mine via steam, and it downloaded at full speed with little, if any, installation time.

When I installed the first time the .NET installer was what bogged the process down. I don't know why that was the case. To this day I cringe a little when I see that another game is going to futilely attempt to install .NET or some C++ redistributable package instead of looking to see if I have it already. I always expect it to take a century to finish and I just want to play my game now. Don't they know that I was in Boy Scouts? I am prepared for future game installations just check my system and see if I'm not you stupid-assed installer-wizard!

Anyways, it could also just be a bad download. They still happen, though unlikely.

Stop install, then restart computer, then try installing again.
Update your drivers.
Delete the download and any Folders Kenshi may have already made ( temp Files )., restart computer, re download and install.

...and install has finally completed.

I did spend a few hours starting and stopping it today though,to see if i could figure out the issue. And i think i did.Its VERY odd,and yet held true thru multiple tests, but minimizing the install window reduces the speed of the install to a glacial pace.

If i left the install window maximized, and kept it at the top of any programs running, the install would complete in about 15 minutes. However, should i minimize the install window, the install would take well over 14 hours (i dont know the full time it would take, as the install when i stopped it was only at about 1/3 done)

Ive never in my computer exp, seen this.....whats the deal ?

hard drive most likely. Either fragmented, slow, or starting to die.
