Trying to explain Kenshi to a friend...And I'm not sure how.

So I'm trying to get my friend into Kenshi, as I know it is a game he would love. This game has so far brought me hours and hours of enjoyment, but I'm not quite sure how to explain it in conversation to a friend of mine.

How would you describe Kenshi? I may just have him read this topic.

Kenshi is like the butter that goes on your bread

It plays smooth for a game thats still in early development. Many images come up with in the game as you play. you think Dune, Feudal Japan Samurai or Ronin running around in a vast desert landscape ( until the new biomass is added ) that has that post apocalyptic feel.

The game play is intriguing as well. you can play as one or many or as a army, you can even be legion ( with a certain mod added ) You can be a trader, a bandit, a ronin, a builder, baker and farm worker. Or you can run around screaming "We are the Knights of Ni !" and proceed to chop others legs and arms off with a pickled herring.

The game at this stage is just awesome. i have been playing videogames since Pong first came out, and by far this is one of the best games i have seen or played. Alpha bugs and all. And i sit in my chair playing this game as i write this. This game can cause you grief and laughter and rage but none of it in bad ways. At first the game is hard, cause you expect most games to give you a character that just cuts thru your enemies like butter. Not Kenshi, in fact its your enemies that "Cut thru you like butter"

Even with a 20 in your squad you can still lose people. And that is what really sold me to this game. the playability and how you have to overcome basically everyone cause when you start. you're the fresh meat. and the wimp and everyone wants to pick on you. When you lay in the sand bleeding out you can just hear the ones who cut you down laughing at how easy you where to take out.

Sometimes you get up. sometimes you don't. and it can take a while before you notice, oh i'm dead, well fudgesicles. Or when you get up. you were just given a bit more fighting skills so next time... you might be the one laughing instead as you loot their bodies for goodies to sell or wear. And when that happens you go wow neat i did it, i survived. and when you do. you don't get away scot free, usually your beaten up pretty bad and slowly bleeding out. but you won.. there is no other feeling like that in any other game. cause next time, they might get lucky and laugh at you as they walk away going ha, and she thought she would get the best of us this time .

And later one, you can win more more more often. then you sell their loot and build your own town. build up your own trade empire. or go out again and yell " We are the Knights who say Ni!! "

Over all it is a complex but simple game at the same time.
and a lot of fun to play.

That is how i see Kenshi, well a small part, since this game is not done by a long shot. and if its this good now. its gonna be awesome sauce on a stick good when it comes out of development.

Might have guessed it...men rarely show much sensitivity in expressing their affections and even worse at reading subtle hints ...although I'm an old pedantic who sticks to my principles, there are no age or race or gender on the internet where all minds are equally.
