Recruiting bandits. (After saving them.)
Honestly, it would allow for another whole level of AI!
You healed them so they are grateful and loyal to you.
But what would make it epic is when you then encounter a group of bandits.
Does your bandit recognise any of them?
Will he turn on you and join them?
Will he just stand aside and not help either side, because he is conflicted?

Then this could possibly lead to you making your own bandit organization, 'brainwashing' other bandits into joining you by waiting for someone to stab them, then putting a band-aid on them =p

I'll be Zalak for a day, enslaving the entire forums.
Back to the topic.
- It would be great if bandits were following my squad and the weaklings (I can't remember who but another forum goer called them "pack mules" until they got experienced and didn't faint or die) lead them to another group o' bandits.
Slash, squish, blood.... the wounded survivor or escaping lunatic gets treated by the medic and proclaims his love(undying servitude!)to Lord Rich guy Ibn Monster.

I'm pretty sure Chris mentioned in some thread that there will be martial (unarmed/fistfighting/whatever you want to call it) combat, and that if you use it you would be able to let all your opponents live, and gain a reputation for being merciful and kind, so some enemies might even decide to join you.

Ahh yes that was me (comment listed under "Creating a successful squad"), and with all fairness they should be honored to travel "safely" under my "protection".....and carry my mountain of "honorably obtained" items.Toaster assassin said: Pack mules, that is what I considered my newbies until they obtained xp.
I believe that Chris said in some antiquated post that the player can use blunt weapons to knock out enemies and acquire then prisoners. (I think he also said that the enemies can also capture your people) Wouldn't that be interesting if your main character could be captured as well, then the stakes become a lot more interesting.

Ah this topic is somewhat dusty, but I do need to correct myself. According to the main page of Kenshi your main character can be captured or apparently eaten. ( My henchmen will constantly need a new leader after I mess with the cannibals).

The highlighted bit immediately brought to mind the times when Bugs Bunny was in a cauldron and the many other cartoon characters about to be eaten, I'd let my faction leader get captured by cannibals on purpose just so he could be rescued from a black cauldron full of boiling water

Lol. Bestest idea evar.
The concept of saving bandits after healing them is a nice idea.
Will the Bandits mental attitude and stuff affect whether they betray you or join you?
For instance, some bandits may be cowardly or loyal, which may affect whether they stick around in combat.

What?
By "saving"them do you mean taking them prisoner? I mean yes you can heal them (which would be saving them) but then they become your prisoner before your ally. (In which then they can decide to join you).Lorenzo666 Said: The concept of saving bandits after healing them is a nice idea.
