So, I made a simple weapon, I set up custom Weapon Mesh, Model and Manufacturer. Changed the Wanderer character to start the game with the weapon, which he actually does.

However, it's using one of the default weapon skins, even though I have a custom texture (and a normal map). I tried setting everything related to weapon level to 100 and to 1, and in both cases, it didn't work.

List of things I modified on the Construction Kit:

- Weapon (mesh) - new
- Weapon models (material) - new
- Weapon manufacturer - new and "linked" to both mesh and material with a 100 chance.
- Character (Wanderer) - weapon level and weapons.

I didn't set up an invetory image though (And I decreased the resolution to minimun in order to improve loading times to test the mod)

I'm a "item making enthusiast" and I'm planning to make many weapons and upload them to the Nexus, and hopefully to the Steam Workshop in the future.

Here's the weapon with the right texture (Keep in mind I didn't put too much work to it, because I wasn't even sure it would work. That's why it doesn't look as good as it should. I simply used the "default" Blender tools and textures to create it)

Link because image is too big.

And here's the weapon with the wrong texture.

That's the problem. When you give your new weapon to already existing characters, they will use the default textures. The same bug applies when you try to give your weapon to vendors, all the textures will mess up.

You can avoid it by duplicating the Wanderer character and editing the duplicate. Then you just have to create a new start-off with your newly created character.

The game will then use your texture!

Yay! Thanks! That did the trick

I still need to rotate the blade 90º, for I didn't intend it to be held in place by the wielder's buttcheeks.

By the way, I still having two minor issues.
1 - The normal map isn't working. Looks totally bland, exactly like a "normalless" texture. Changing the bumpiness did nothing. I generated the normal map directly from blender.

2 - Is the "automatic icon generation" thing working? I didn't manage to get it working.

I'll start making some weapons now :)

By the way, what's the average ammount of triangles each mesh contains? I tried making that one with the least ammount of triangles I could.

I also noticed that normal maps have no effect. Not sure why. But because of this I decided to zip my mods without them to keep the file size even smaller! :D

Well, it didn't work, then it worked for a short period of time and now it seems to be broken again.. I should create a thread in the bug forum actually! As you can see in my post here, it worked for a while: http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... 132#p41751

The Horse Chopper seems to be a leftover from here: http://opengameart.org/content/low-poly-swords
And it says 350 triangles.. that's all I know.
