Hidy ho all,
I haven't picked up this game for a fair bit of time, I had to look back in my email a couple of years just to find my key.
I downloaded the demo, input my key, and all went great. But the updater is failing.
I keep getting the following error:
Error trying to save file: Error downloading "http://www.kenshiupdate.com/wyupdate/wyserver.wys": The remote name could not be resolved: 'www.kenshiupdate.com'
just coming back after a long absense, questions

right, I like steam, just not that much. It seems to have taken over the gaming community, and that monopoly has made it dangerous.
If at all possible, i'd like to keep some games (like kenshi) out of steam. So that if the worst happens, and I'm not able to access my steam account, I can still play some of my games.
My account should be set for administrators to send me emails, if someone could email me the link for the latest download, I can then use my key on that and play.

Here is a link to 72.1

Hopefully we should release another torrent in a couple of weeks for the very latest version.

You mean 67.2? It should be able to update, what problem are you getting?
The latest available non-Steam version will always be on IndieDB, linked from 'Download Demo' on our home page. Just check the description for the latest experimental torrent.
Outside of Steam the game isn't updated as much and I apologize for that. There have been technical issues since the original update software we used was discontinued.

Yea, the demo installer on the front page gives the error:
"Error trying to save file: Error downloading "http://www.kenshiupdate.com/wyupdate/wyserver.wys": The remote name could not be resolved: 'www.kenshiupdate.com' " when I put in my key and fire it up.
The game itself seems to run fine, just the updater fails.

Ah, I'm told that our server has been shut down and we're unable to use the non-Steam updater anymore. So that would be why you're getting that error.
We should have a download available for the new stable version within the next week, probably via torrent I think. I'll give you a poke when it's up anyway.
