At this point I'm not exactly aware of what the intended scope of weaponry goes to. So I was just wondering if there was any chance of getting weapons from all over the world and not just the more Japanese/Eastern theme. Don't get me wrong I love it but I especially love variety and options.

Maybe, who knows? But remember that currently its just a shell of a game. Although idea's of blunt weapons may tend along more western themes. I can't think of any eastern blunt weapons at all.

Still, there are already mods in development that are working on a medieval theme. You can't try them because you are on the demo. But if you do decide to upgrade to a paid version, go and check out the medieval mod. I think it plans on being a total conversion.

i kinda hope that shields will be in the game since we need some sort of protection against arrows when we are roaming across the destert. (and i don't think good old ninja doging with work here, especially with 50 archers aimed at you, once will hit you if you don't have something for the arrows to hit instead) i was thinking that if spears were made there would be spearmen with sheilds that would go and protect comrades when archers shoot.

if my knowledge serves me well, other nations around Japan had shields... but this game is not set in japan; so why would shields not be part of the gear at some point.

notice some of the characters have tri pointed hats that were european, and the long coats look like somthing from British sailors...

the region the game takes place in currently is heavy in Japanese culture (except for the buildings) but other regions not yet designed could be more scandinavian in nature while others are maybe african or somthing.

we'll just have to wait and see.

i know that people used shields since they were pretty much a millita's only defence against a sword of somehting (an average person's clothes weren't made of chain) and since the hacker and heavy weapons classes are two handed they probobly can't use a sheild.

i don't really see someone with a kanta also have a shield and idk if a saber is 2 handed or not.

well right. katanas would probably not be used with a shield. but thats not to say other weapons will be introduced to be used with shields.

i want to see maybe some middle eastern type swords... plus the swords of medieval europe.

where do you think they got jack sperrow (captain jack sperrow) but think about the map, do you see any trees to make the ships, or to make a wall for that matter. i think the ships might be made of rock or something so how well do you think they will float...

wonder how they will stay afloat (steampowered or coal)

trees will be implemented at some point. then we can have our ships (and since there's no water we'll make flying ships)

PS: chris mentionned a legendary environment artist, so i guess we'll see a bit more than the placeholder desert.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

NOOOOOOO

I've hated those Final Fantasy-style airships in FF4 and the rest which didn't have the mechanical or steam-punk engines and contraptions to keep them afloat.
(Yeah, it is nice to see a ship being lifted off the ground by willpower and determination mixed with the blood, sweat and tears of the wing-oarsmen but come on, after the first time you snicker and enjoy it you realize that no pirate[Kenshi-en] will be escaping from police air-cruisers with one of these)

I shall make a boat of sandstone carried on the backs of giant crabs while I stand gloriously, hair blowing, at the bow with one leg up Captain Morgan style with a saber in hand as my enemies lament my arrival and their women rejoice.

Why have flying ships when you can have land ships? If any of you have read a lot of post-apocalypse books, then you would know what i am talking about.

the return of the mummy all over again

but why not have flying ships?

i mean haveing them imediatly wouldn't be any fun so mabye they would cost a lot of materials and money AND we would also have to reaserch some power source

I guess fuel efficiney is irrelevant in Kenshi[until modded in], if the research tree has an option to build a much faster "sports utility" version with greater stability for harpoon and bow drive-by action then I will support that(Or a mounted cannon on both kinds of ships for epic dust bandit slaying action TM :D)

Puzzle Pirates maybe dying but cannon warfare sure as heck will come to Kenshi the moment ships arrive :!:

PS: If I didn't need the money now more than ever, I'd have funded a mod to bring pirates and ship warfare(you can't say naval if we're using land ships  ) to Kenshi until Chris makes them official.
