OK, so I'm really liking this game, but a few things aren't clear to me, so I have some questions lined up.

-So a whole bunch of bandits came and attacked the starting town, and then a ninja came and attacked. I read about how people don't wake up if enemies are near, so I carried his (healing) body right up to the town gate in hopes that he will never wake up again. Would that work?

-I'm not totally sure what exactly dictates how/if your characters die. I know that if the chest stat falls to -100 they die instantly, but is it the same with head and stomach? Also, does blood have anything to do with dying? And is it bad if limbs fall below -100? (At one point my character's arm or leg or something was around -130). While I'm on the subject, I think some cool perks to blood would be an increased healing rate for having more blood, and decreased head ability from low blood... not quite sure what bad comes of having an injured head though... Maybe something interesting like a reverse splinting effect?

-Also, the description for the large backpack makes it seem like a stupid idea to have one, but it only weighs 1kg...? My brother goes hiking quite often, and he has a pretty big hiking backpack, and full of his clothing and whatnot, it looked like how much that backpack might have weighed, and he figured it weighed about 50 lbs (~23kg). Just sayin'.

-Would it be just plain stupid to wield a fragment axe or something like that?

-Is there any way to dual wield? I notice my guy can wear 2 standard sized katanas on his back and side, but he only ever uses one it seems.

I'm so happy I can organize all my thoughts like I just have, I can never do it! LOL, anyways I may have more questions later.

EDIT:
-Also on the subject of dying, I notice that sometimes when one drops from combat, their head/chest/stomach will either steadily rise, or steadily fall, meaning they will either be able to wake up on their own, or continue to decline until they die...
What I'm wondering here is how do you know if the stat is going to rise or fall?

from what i have seen, dead enemies will stay down if near those that attacked them. ive loaded numerous times and still see the dead group where they fell. However, in the vast open they dissappear when i reload it.

dont think so. your caracter is going to use the weapon with highest damage. ive had lots of katanas in both spots and he only fought with one.

Thanks for answering my questions, that clears up some things... my question about fragment axes is that they weigh SOOO much, like 60kg, that are they basically ineffective? Because the stat description for heavy weapons says that it's hard to find people that can use them effectively, but those that do are super dangerous, yet most other heavy weapons I saw weighed only around 10kg or so.

i guess there might be some sort of momentum later in the game (there will be weight too though so the ax will probobly weight you down a lot) so that the 60kg weapon will add a lot of damge depending on how hard you swing (fully swing the ax from the right and hit the bandit in the middle of your swing, which might knock him off his feet due to the momentum and weight of the ax)
I'M BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also, this might be where training comes into play...

say you want your squard to have a one man bulldozer. well, the local fella from the bar is barely worth it with a katana, so you leave him in the town to train with heavy weapons... or somthing. once he gets strength up enough to use it, he can join you in real battle.

Someone ought to try that, seems deviously cunning

not sure here. sorry.

If either the head, stomach or chest drop to -100 then your character is gone.
Limbs currently do not suffer if they fall that low or even to -500 except they'll be useless and broken, splint them up and make sure to heal them properly

*USE THE SEARCH FEATURE TO BE SURE* Blood falling below 1 might kill your character.

Endurance will be added in the future, that way your characters won't be able to carry such heavy items without needing to rest and you will have to set up camp after running across the desert after some dust ninja(That won't be possible until you spend 5+ hours I think on your character's fitness when the feature is implemented)

Heavy weapons are mighty useful, train your puny swords for hire with a katana until their attack skill is at least 50 and their dexterity is that high as well(In the full game that might not be enough).
Before the plank was removed it was the most beautiful, most powerful and most hated weapon because with one strike you tore asunder every limb and flesh (-100? that's nothing when your trained swordsman gets a strength level per hit and strikes a left bandit's arm to -236 and below)
Train in other classes before using heavy weapons, cutters can work but katanas build up dexterity which will give you a slight edge when you're lugging that 88KG plank (Rest in peace) or its current equivalent due to the increased attack speed you get for dexterity being so high

dont think so. your caracter is going to use the weapon with highest damage. ive had lots of katanas in both spots and he only fought with one.

If you have a heavy weapon as your main weapon and a katana as your backup weapon, the game checks to see if you are more skilled in the backup weapon before using the main weapon.
20 in Heavy is ignored if you have 21 in Katana skill.
Also if they're both Katanas, if one of them has 1.3 cutting damage(Main) and the other 1.35(Backup) you'll use the backup

Dual wielding is not currently possible because Chris has to modify the game and add the art for it.

Fragment axe is still deadly even with lowish dex. My character has about 26 dex and about 12 heavy skill and just wipes the floor most times. Especially when you can hit 3 guys at once (or more). The things are awesome, but defense tends to suffer.

Wow, thanks, guys, for all the insightful answers!
I guess an updated questions list is due now.

-Does blood have anything to do with dying?

This one was my EDIT question, I don't know if anyone saw it.
-On the subject of dying, I notice that sometimes when one drops from combat, their head/chest/stomach will either steadily rise, or steadily fall, meaning they will either be able to wake up on their own, or continue to decline until they die...
What I'm wondering here is how do you know if the stat is going to rise or fall beforehand? Is it just random?

-If you normally use a 2 handed weapon but are carrying a person and also have equipped a one handed weapon, I'm guessing they'll automatically switch to the one hander?

If blood goes below 0 your character will pass out. If blood goes below -100 then your character will die form blood loss.

As for total blood, I am not sure. I think it is linked to your strength stat but I've never really bothered to check.

Ah good times with blood loss. Me and my companion at an early stage found two hungry bandits, a leader and trooper. So we engage for all we're worth and kill the trooper but the leader gets us. So limping on one leg and clutching the opposite arm he gimps away. Only he passes out before cresting the hill we fought on. I recovered first and stripped him.

I've discovered death from blood loss occurs actually at -75 blood... happened after my giant companion Tiny bit the dust (or sand, lolololol). Also, I want to know what each little bar does for each part. I know that if it gets damaged, the net value decreases, but there is usually a red bar left, I don't know what that indicates, but I know that one cannot be "first aid-ed" past the red bar. It seems that there isn't really a bad reason to use splints either, it's basically taking away the ill effects of damaged limbs.

The black part is stun damage. It will heal naturally and pretty fast. Red is damage that won't heal (i think) without treatment. The yellow is treated red damage. This will heal over time. Not sure but I think if it gets hit by new damage it will disappear quite quickly. The white is splinted health; this gives you the function equal to the level of healing. So crippled legs that are splinted above zero will allow you to use them again. Again not sure, but I think if they take new damage the splint level decreases very quickly too.

LOL, funny scene I just now stumbled across that's kinda similar to that one:
I was just running through the desert, and I saw a lone bandit limping around... I figured I would put him out of his misery, so I ran towards him. As soon as I was within maybe 25 ft, he just crumpled to the ground from blood loss. At first I thought he was faking it so I wouldn't fight him, LOL

red damage does heal jsut really slowly, like 3 or 5 per min. and splints will stay at the level they were until there is no more yellow (i think)
