Base Location border help

Hello!
So im trying to build and i have found multiple spots that would be awesome to build at but in all of the cases they are too close to a city, outpost, or even a damn ruin. I am getting really pissed off because every time i try to find a new spot it is too close to another faction because there are building literally every half a mile. Can i destroy these other bases or possibly lower the border distance so i can build somewhere?

distances are hard coded. and you are just stuck looking for a area that doesnt have a city.

Wow not sure where you are building but explore farther out. The majority of the map is unclaimed and if you are having that issue you must be right in the middle of someone else's territory. Move farther out.
