As the title says, the slave trader in my local town bought a dead slave from me, or at least, he bought a living slave who died somewhere in the trading process, but now he wont put him in a cage, or put him down, he just stands inside is hop holding the dead slave.
No problem right? just get over it's only a visual issue. It is not. The slave trader is now permanently busy, you know when you come back with all your guys carrying slaves, you try and sell them to the slave trader all at once, but he wont buy any more slaves until he has put the slave he is holding in a cage. Well that is what is happening, only this slave is dead, so he is never going to be put anywhere.
So here are a few of the things I have tried:
Reload save
wait a week to see if body will disappear
ctrl+shift+f11
Found that the dead slave was actually for sale.
Bought the dead slave, he is no longer for sale, but the slave trader is still holding him.
I unfortunately did all these things in the order stated, and the week I waited deleted any auto-saves previous to this bug happening, stupid I know, but I really didn't think that this would be a constant issue. It was funny at first, because the slave trader was just standing there with a dead guy with flies buzzing around his head, but now even the flies have dispersed and I can't sell any more slaves, which was my main source of income and the only reason I bought a house in town. (so I could save bandages on slaves and just bring them back to my house and put them in bed to auto-heal)
So now, I am broke, my main source of income is gone. I have moved on to mining Iron and trying to process it into plates which I can sell, but this is not why I bought a house here, or why I named myself manhunters. I have also successfully recreated the issue after several frustrating attempts of selling too late or too early. Unfortunately I did not save and I have no proof of the fact, but I do have another person who has reported this on the steam website.

Upon looking for his link, I just discovered that he has responded and solved the issue by importing his save. I will try it now. I am going to leave this up here though, because I put too much time into it, and Steam bug support aint saying nothing about it and it sucks to have it happen to you. and have no fix for it. I will return here to report whether or not importing save fixes this bug or not.

So I have checked and verified that importing the save does actually resolve this issue. Of course, this is still a bug that needs squishing, but for those of you with this issue. You can import your save from the main menu of the game. Just start the game up and click import. Some things to note about importing is that it will reset everything in the world to a day 1 state. This does NOT mean that you will lose your base, items, or characters, as long as they were in that save, everything will be as it was. Including number of days spent in game, items in chests cookers, benches, fires and even squad positions.
If like me, you had a bunch of people locked in your house to sell as slaves later, you will find that as they were not a part of your squad, they will all be gone.
Other than that, this has resolved my issue, and I hope that this post also helps others. I am also glad that I found this website, as I would rather not rely on steam for bug reports.
Final note: A small exploit/make things easier? Is that when you import your save, all the slaves you sold to the slave trader are gone from his cages, and so, it makes selling to him a lot faster as he doesn't have to run all the way to whatever cages are not into his shop to dump the slaves.
