I'm playing stable version with no mods. No bases currently built, only several buildings in various cities with at least a skeleton repair bed (I've recruited skeletons only so far). Research bench level IV, and most indoor items built in The Hub.

I am now crashing out of the game when I click "confirm" on build menu. I've tried:
1) Building in different cities/buildings.
2) Tried to build different things (lights, storage, etc.)
3) Importing characters, buildings and research.
4) Ctrl+Shift+F11.
5) Checked file integrity through steam.

I did each of these several times in different combinations, but game still crashes as before. I opened a saved game from a previous start with different characters and could build and confirm just fine, so It seems to me to be something about this particular save. I could try importing without my buildings, but not before I ran all over the map to recover some of the better items I have in storage around the world. (mastercraft robotic limbs, and weapons, etc.) and selling off the items that wouldn't fit on my characters at the time of import. I would much rather find a solution.

After not playing this saved game sense it seemed bugged, i logged on last night and made a build order for a light, confirmed and built it without any problem. I played hours since then, last night and today, only to have it happen again when I confirmed a build consisting of an armor locker, weapons cabinet and crossbox cabinet. Game crashing to desktop when clicking confirmation in build mode. no mods other than the two included with the current download and they are both off. importing has not fixed this issue in the past.

This save is on stable branch, not experimental!
Another crash, this time while confirming the build of two campfires on separate levels of an outpost I was just about to loot on the coast of the southwest quadrant of the map. I am providing both the last quicksave previous to, and the crash dump from this most recent event.

I'm really wanting to keep this save going as I've only recruited from vanilla and this seed has been excellent with providing me with skeletons.

No player outposts built. Only bought buildings in existing towns mostly to add a skeleton repair bed, and some research and smithing in The Hub. Tech level 5

Tinman - starter character (hey, the shek keep calling me this, so I decided to just own it.)
Thoke - The Hub (a common recruit for me previously but seems to not spawn in new games now)
Sadneil - Black Desert City bar, unique recruit
Burn - Burn's Tower, unique recruit
Two skeleton recruits from Shark.
Two skeleton recruits from the waystation south of Clownsteady.
one Skeleton recruit from World's End
I haven't really search for more in UC or Holylands so I might find more still.

I'm actually only finding the two unique skeletons Sadneil and Burn in any new games. Have skeleton recruits been nerfed in vanilla?

Also, when I start the game only two mods show on the first menu and I have them both off. Sho-Battai walls (v. 1), and Newwworld Plus (v. 1). However I had not played in a while and I'm subscribed to several mods in the steam workshop that don't show up on this same mod list on the first menu. are they outdated? or already converted for use on experimental? do I need to unsub from these in steam workshop if they are causing problems? This save does not have any recruited prisoners, tamed beasts or beast backpacks and only the two uniques recruited above from their normal spawn points.

- Possible outdated addons
recruit prisoners
more common uniques
Tame Beasties
Animal Backpacks

Thanks for any help! :D

Need the whole quicksave folder, not just the quick.save file.

I think that was the wrong save. The problem is related to a player outpost close to the waystation in the grey desert. That quicksave doesn't have it.

"two campfires on separate levels of an outpost I was just about to loot".

This was in a non-player building marked "outpost" on the map. I was about to loot it for research books when I crashed. It was dark inside and I just plopped a couple of campfires down to see a little better. the autosave would of been sometime before it, most likely before I ever even got to it. But these confirm build crashes happen on this save anywhere, though not every time like they did when I first reported it at the beginning of this thread. I haven't even been back into the game sense then so that was the last autosave before it crashed. I was using Tinman, so not sure where he was when the last autosave happened, probably in route between The Hub and the southwestern coast. At least 95 in athletics and stealth so I take him on long trips across the map often. His stealth is usually 100(+6) with gear and often run right through hostiles without the eye ever changing from blue. all other characters were stationary somewhere safe. I'm about to play now so I'll go to that same outpost again and save, then drop two campfires again to see if it crashes. if so, I'll send the save where I was just before the crash and the crash dump. but again, it doesn't happen every time now. I'll just need to get into the habit of saving before opening the build menu I guess.

OK, after logging in, i realized the quicksave occurred While i was looting a lost library in Shun before i was at the "outpost". Looking at the map i didn't see it revealed so i looted the containers and learned what map items i had found and looked at the player map again. That's when I saw that the "outpost" was now marked on the map in Shun with the green box. So I went to this "outpost", lured the spiders out and went in and did a quicksave (F5). After being inside the true name was revealed as Lost Armoury. This is where the most recent crash happened. I then put down two campfires without any crash. loaded the quicksave again and placed them again. I am unable to recreate the crash. I then exited the game and compressed the quicksave folder. and came here to the forum. I am unable to attach the compressed file because it is too large (83.4 MB). Much larger than the previous quicksave i sent. I've tried compressing the quicksave folder twice, entering game again and quicksaving (F5) again and compressing again, but I keep getting the message that the file is too big to attach to this forum.

the original compressed autosave folder i already sent was only 1.06m at the lost library,
but these new compressed autosaves at the lost armoury are 83.9m. More than 79x larger. I do have 9 characters scattered around 5 locations but they are in both of the quicksaves. not sure why being at the Lost Armory would make it so much larger.

I went to the steam site and downloaded the latest updates just now. Please consider this problem resolved unless I have new crashes in this latest version to complain about. The compressed quicksave file size is no longer an issue either as once I updated and imported, the size of a new quicksave was just fine.
Here is a quicksave with Tinman just outside the Lost Armoury in Shun but because of the fresh Import, there are spiders in there again. No problem.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your help and thank you for such a great game. The issues I have had are only a drop in the ocean of great fun I'm having in Kenshi. Keep up the good work.
