Hello, and thank you for listening to my request.
One of the current roadblocks I've found when modding the game through the FCS is that Items are capable of having non-intergers values (Their weight, specifically) for their weight, yet when visualized in-game the UI does not show these values as they really appear, but rounds them up up to whole numbers. This make it very hard to not only visualize how much do some items really weight in game, but It also makes it harder to reverse engineer many of the formulas used in Kenshi's gameplay, such as combat damage outputs.
My suggestion / request is for either weight values (and others) to display decimals (1 or 2 digits) by default of for a toggle-able option to be added to the menu that allows the player to enable and disable the rounding up of numerical values in-game.
Again, Thank you for hosting this platform for my begging needs, and thank you for developing this great game that has already taking hundreds of hours away from me both in and out of the game.

So...you want the decimals rounded out in a game where most of the weapons do damage that is a percentile of one...?
I get how this would aid your efforts to mod the game -- though I don't see why it's necessary, only why it's easier -- I do not believe a game should detract from itself for the sake of modding ease.
Why exactly are the decimals such a problem for you? An initial problem I see to your solution is that things can't weigh less than anything else unless they weigh a full kilogram less, and also that nothing can weigh less than a kilogram without weighing nothing.
I appreciate Kenshi for its complexity. This is the last game that should be simplified.

No, no. My problem is
the exact opposite of that.
The game rounds down (I am not sure it's merely how the information is displayed or that the game is actually rounding down/up the values themselves and then presenting them as whole numbers) certain values that should allow for fractions and decimals to be displayed as such are not.
For example:

Using the FCS I made a custom item called
Cup TEST that weights exactly 0.5Kg both In-game and in the FCS. I added 5 of these modded items into the game. The total weight of all items should sum up to 2.5 Kg, right? Yet when we see how much Total Weight a character has and can Carry, the UI only registers 2 Kg out of the 2.5 Kg in total.
I am not sure if this is a simple measure to simplify how info is displayed for the player or if it's an oversight of the developers of allowing items to weight fractional values in game but not displaying them as such in the PC's Inventory screen (perhaps a result of the fact that
all items in the vanilla game weight whole, interger values).
My request / suggestion was for the values such as this to be properly displayed as they are truly handled by the game (within reason), or for an optional feature that allows values to be displayed as intergers, fractionals, or something inbetween (still rounding up allowing for certain ammount of decimals to still show).
I'm sorry if I caused confusion with my previous post. It was merely a suggestion over some minor detail I noticed.

Ah, I understand you now, I think.
I believe the reason for the UI displaying the rounded numbers is so a lengthy fractional number doesn't bust the UI display. It never looks good to have data spilling outside the spaces made in the UI for it.
As for why it's rounded down, I think that's a matter of grace for the player -- rounding up would encumber you when you're maybe even actually just below your maximum carry weight.
In general I've never found a problem with the weight being displayed like this. When stacked, it counts properly by all appearances.

Personally I'd also love an option for such things. The rounding the game does makes reverse engineering the formulas an utter nightmare, near impossible in some cases. As without the true numbers you're left playing a guessing game as for what the truth is.
I wouldn't even care if it was hidden away in some debug option or something. For example, I've worked on reverse engineering the formulas for armour resistance, since they are generated based an various factors initially unknown to the user. Using a combination of modding, savegame editing, and rigorous in-game tests I've managed to work out the formulas for both Cut and Blunt resistance on an armour. But Harpoon resistance eludes me however, due to slightly different mechanics in place compared to the other two.
But with the ability to see the true numbers, it would be possible to decipher the formulas that are impossible to do currently, and could skip many hours of testing for many projects.

Well, I have to admit that development locked me out of the game (I had one of the forbidden graphics cards) for quite some time, so I may be wrong, but I believe I recall a historic post about the subject where it was confirmed that the rounding of decimals is only for display purposes and that the game system itself relies heavily on the decimals to work out its math.
A lot of the game system, I believe, uses the decimals for percentile-based calculations.
Again, I may be wrong and I believe I may have gone nearly two years without being able to play, so take my input with a grain of salt unless someone else can confirm.
