I wonder how many times this has been discussed, when you think about saving you want it so you can save but not before a big fight or something like we can right now and after as well. And when you save after a battle (when you lose and are dying) you can simply load and your blood loose will be 0 meaning your character will survive after a few minutes. But Chris can't remove saving because obviously people have other things in life to do and with out saving your time will have been for nothing. So how about a save system like this

you have certain points in which you can save (such as towns) but can not quick save. And if we still wanted these little quick saves we could say buy them in like a device sort of thingy (like a i pad? lol just kidding) but these devices are really expensive and will make you think twice before buying them. With these devices however you use them only once as well as having a restriction of only having one in inventory and only the leader may carry this device. Say I was out in the desert to far away from a town and like I really had to go for something I whip out the device save and exit the game and come back later having done what I need but now the device is destroyed when I reload my save file thus making me have to buy a new one. Almost like the ability to place a save point only rendering itself useless after you reload. So that way if I go into a fight I think I might loose saving right before it and then continuing onto the fight only to die and reload I wouldn't be able to reload again because I would of used the privilege the one time only device game me. Therefor putting me right in front of those bandits again and if I die I die unless your fast enough to run away haha!

What do you guys think of this?

I stopped reading part way through the second paragraph because the grammar makes me cry. But, I don't like your idea. The days of savepoints are hopefully over. They came about originally because data storage was limited and expensive; this is no longer the case.

To solve your problem though I will say that there have been statements by chris that there will be a hardcore mode such as Mount and Blade, dwarf fortress or other games where the game saves when you quit ONLY. This will stop cheap tricks when you save and reload because something didn't go how you wanted it to go.

Obviously it is not implemented now but my advice to help you now is....don't cheat. This is a single player game and the only person who can use little exploits in your save file is yourself. Self control is a wonderful thing and I hope games of the future don't feel the need to completely code themselves so that people don't need to exercise any self control to play them properly.

well that's kinda of how I meant is that if you where to cheat by saving before thinking something might go wrong you can't reload after you reload once therefore in a way your only putting your self in the hole which is your own fault not the games which is what Chris wants to you to die for because it's your fault. Also I'm sorry my grammar isn't up to your standards to me that's just to bad.

The grammar still burns. I can't even understand you anymore. Do you breathe when you speak in real life? If you do, try putting a comma or a full stop in that spot when writing. It helps to flow a little.

The first part with all the fullstops was at least easy to read.

I don't care so much about BAD grammar, as long is there is SOME grammar. Some people on this forum don't speak english as a first language and it can be a real struggle to read a whole chunk of words with no way to decide what word belongs to what idea/sentence.

I can only agree with this. Bad english grammar is a pain in the *ss to read. English isn't my first language and to say the truth, the french education system is shit if you want to learn any "foreign" language. That's why most frenchies don't speak any other language at all, or have a horrible accent. It's a shame (such a shaaaame... nevermind). I mean it. I'm really ashamed of my country when I hear someone speaking english with such a ridiculous accent (I mean listen to Jean Dujardin !).

I had to rely on myself (MYSEEEEEELF ! But in my mind I... Hum... sorry.). I mostly learned english trying to understand songs, then I started formulating my own sentences. It was easy for me 'cause I actually like english. I had to, I used to play MMORPGs and I liked to talk with teammates. Plus, english is a cool language x) and if you can speak english, then you can go in almost any country and be understood. Oh well, if you only speak english, then don't try to ask your way to a french guy... x)

I'm quite fluent, I'm not saying my english is perfect (by the way, feel free to correct me if there's anything wrong in my posts. I'd appreciate it). But then, demonslay999, I agree with Blxz. An effort would be appreciated.

Well sorry to all of you then but. If i need to a put a period. (like I'm doing now for you.) After every five words. Then it's just as well as if I stop posting on these forums. I did put in some effort, it's not as if there was absolutely no periods or comma's. Like you said you only read half of it which was probably the half I was to tired to care about. Maybe on other forums like the project zomboid one (where I'm seriously 5x more frequent) no one's told me anything about it so far. Maybe it's because there is more of an population on that forum with a higher "born and raised as English speakers". I know that Rogdon and Blxz (finally got your name right) your both from a country where English is thought.

Well I think since Rogdon seems to be from France and you Blxz from... japan? I really don't remember actually. But still remaining to the topic of grammar, maybe I should compare what I write here to what write there and see if I'm either; one, putting more grammar/thought into my huge ass paragraphs. Or two, in the case which I'm not can there can only be one conclusion. That either no one cares or understands the ideas with or without the 100% good grammar. OR there are just a lot more English speaking people who are used to it. But just to say something personal to Blxz right now, YOU that's right you, have made more demand for grammar (not spelling and that's not even a strong point in my life) , then my teachers. I'm 16 going to grade 11 or level 2 we call it but still. You in just one forum post has made more of a demand for grammar, in the form of punctuation (forms of ,/.) then any of my teachers. I don't know weather to say that's a good or bad thing.

As stated above somewhere, Chris intends to implement a "save only on quit" feature (and probably a forced save on quit). So nobody will loose his time playing and nobody gets to cheat (play the game as it wasn't intended).

Now for the rest, I believe that having an object to save is completely unrealistic. And considering that later in the game you could end up with huge armies and fights everywhere on the map, it will end up being useless having a onetime savethingy.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Need help? pm me or any other mod.

Actually, france and japan don't speak english natively. However, the French language loans many words to english and is similar in some ways but Japanese is vastly different. Although I don't quite know what you mean by 'thought' in that sentence above.

Almost certainly a good thing. Although it took some effort to understand, your post was understood and I felt like i could make sense of your words. I know it requires a bit more effort but, at least for me, it is very much appreciated. Thanks for the extra effort.

Heh, zomboid has a bit of a reputation about its forums. I don't know if its the best standard to hold yourself to. ( I jest of course)
